MACEDON, NY- With summer knocking at the door, Long Acre Farms in Macedon, NY is excited to announce the new theme of the Amazing Maize Maze. The maze title “Get Lost in a Book,” will mark the 15th year of puzzling fun. Guests will figuratively write their own book as they navigate the twists and turns of the 5 acre corn field trying to   publish  their story at the end. Everyone learns different things even when reading the same book and everyone’s maze experience will be different” shares Joan Allen one of the owners of the farm “which is why so many people return year after year to accept the maze challenge.”
This year along with challenging guests with a puzzling maze Long Acre will be challenging guests to read throughout the summer. “As a business we have always supported summer reading programs in the area with prizes” stated Joan Allen, “but I felt it would be fun to also have a program of our own for ages preschool through adult.” Whether you read a novel, magazine or recipe book Long Acre Farms hopes that everyone can join in the summer challenge that will culminate in a special maze day the end of August and chance to win a Kindle.
The Summer Reading Program kick-off event will be on Saturday, June 23rd. From 1-3pm, guests will have a chance to meet the real rabbits that are a part of the EveryBUNNY Reads enrichment program on select Mondays and Wednesdays. At this event you can pick up your reading log, pick up your first book from the lending library and pledge to complete the program. Pledges will receive a free mini back 40 pass for the day. From reading challenges and reading enrichment programs to guest readers and lending libraries the farm will encourage reading all summer long.
