INTERLAKEN, NY – Americana Vineyards Winery is excited to announce that their Fourth of July BBQ bash is now an annual event. Slated for Saturday, June 30 from noon to 10:00pm, the popular destination winery plans to kick off the Fourth of July vacation week with an all-day celebration that features a cookout, local food vendors, games, several local bands, and culminates with a firework display that evening.
This summer event is back by popular demand, according to winery owner, Joe Gober. Gober goes on to explain the origins of the event. “Last year we celebrated our 30th Anniversary and wanted to create an event that was ‘authentic Americana,’ so what better way than with a Fourth of July barbeque – complete with music, food and of course, fireworks? The party was such a hit – we had over 2,000 people here over the course of the day – and everyone had such a good time, that they insisted we do it every year. So we’re just obliging,” he smiles.
Guests can expect a party very similar to last year’s 30th Birthday Bash with a BBQ by Crystal Lake Café, ice cream from Cayuga Lake Creamery, popcorn, wine, wine slushies and beer for the adults, and soda, juice and water for the kids and designated drivers. Bands will play all day long in the Pavilion, from noon to ten. The current line-up is:
Pete Panek 12:00pm
Sim Redmond 2:00pm
The Radio Yardvarks 4:00pm
Purple Valley 6:00pm
Blues Plate Special 8:00pm
Then at 10:00pm the fireworks, by Proximity Pyrotechnics, end the day. The half-hour show rivals any of the community fireworks displays that are put on over the fourth.
“We invite everyone – from our local friends to folks in for the holiday – to come spend the day with us for this family event,” says Gober. “Just pack a few lawn chairs or a blanket, sunscreen, and of course, your dancing shoes.”
If you can’t make it for the party, you can still catch music at the winery all weekend. On Friday June 29, Steve Southworth & The Rockabilly Rays kick off the weekend from 6:00pm-8:00pm, and Sunday, July 1, Bob & Dee wrap up the opening holiday weekend from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Americana Vineyards Winery and Crystal Lake Café are located at 4367 East Covert Road in Interlaken, between Routes 89 or 96. The Café is open from noon until 8:00pm for lunch and dinner, and the winery is open until 6:00pm Monday through Thursday, with extended hours until 8:00pm Friday through Sunday, Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend.
