Instead of buying toys, pioneer children used their imaginations to make their own toys and games out of materials found around their houses – wood, leftover cornhusks, yarn, and fabric scraps.  Make your own yarn doll, explore the Art Cart, and participate in scavenger hunts around Museum galleries.

Learn about the Artistic Process with our interactive Art Cart! Kids can learn about the parts of a painting by creating their own magnetic masterpiece and can also explore a variety of traditional art making materials.

Art Hunts – Young visitors match an artist’s drawing to images found in the paintings and objects throughout the galleries!
