In 1977, the Ingles opened Heron Hill Winery on Keuka Lake and in 2007; they opened a tasting room on Seneca Lake. Here we are three years later, and once again the Ingles are opening another spectacular tasting room at a great location in the Finger Lakes. Not only are they about fifteen minutes from the City of Canandaigua, but they are also just down the road from Bristol Harbour Resort. A perfect combination of relaxation, great food and amazing wine!
Heron Hill’s new tasting room on Canandaigua Lake should be officially opening soon. Heron Hill received approval from the NYS Liquor Authority and now they are waiting on water approval from the state. Once they get this approval, the wine will start pouring and the tastings will begin!

Yesterday I had the honor of visiting Heron Hill Winery’s new tasting room located on Seneca Point Rd in Bristol on Canandaigua Lake. It is at this very location that Heron Hill owners John and Jo Ingle planted their very first vineyard in 1972. This vineyard is still prospering and consists of Cabernet Franc and Riesling. The tasting room is located in a 100-year old barn that was renovated by the South Bristol Cultural Center. John and Jo Ingle visited the tasting room on April 14th to make decisions on the design and what renovations needed to be made. I saw the new look yesterday and the inside of the barn is spectacular. It has lots of room to visit, holds all of Heron Hill’s famous wines, and the best part: as you are tasting Heron Hill’s wine, you look out the windows to see a spectacular view of the Ingles' first vineyard, vibrant, full of life, history and happy grapes!
Heron Hill’s family winery continues to grow and thrive, just like their grapes. The Ingles have been living sustainably for the past 36 years and they bring this dedication and respect for the environment to Heron Hill Vineyards. According to the Ingles, being sustainable not only means respect for the environment, but for the customers too. The Ingles do not use herbicides, which prevents chemical runoff into the lakes.
