Space Available at the Philadelphia Inquirer Travel Show

Put your business in front of thousands of consumers looking to travel at the Philadelphia Inquirer Travel Show on January 26th through 27th.  FLTA partners can sponsor a booth or have their brochures distributed for exposure in the Philadelphia market. In 2011, the Philadelphia Show saw over 8,000 travelers and a great marketing opportunity for FLTA partners! Booth sponsorship is still available for the 2013 show and will allow partners the ability to attend and speak directly to show participants. Booth sponsorship also entitles partners to the leads collected from an FLTA provided sweepstakes offer. This is a great opportunity to attend a show within reach of the Finger Lakes market and receive valuable business exposure! Booth sponsorship for this show is at a rate of $1,365 (does not include travel costs). If you would like your brochures distributed by FLTA, the cost to take advantage of this opportunity is $275. I Love NY Package Promotion for the Canadian Market

I Love NY will be running a “Canada Loves NY” tourism promotion targeting the Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal markets. The campaign will focus on digital media that targets Canadian travelers on sites like Expedia, TripAdvisor and Orbitz. Banner ads will drive visitors to I Love NY website pages that include travel packages provided by New York businesses. This promotion will take place from February to mid-March of 2013. FLTA is looking to provide packages on behalf of our partners for this campaign but we need your package submissions no later than noon on Friday, January 4th. The timeline is tight, but I Love NY has made this stipulation and provided little lead time on this request. Requirements for package submissions include:

  • Relating to the themes of shopping, winter sports, and ways to enjoy your visit to New York State.

Please provide your package information to with the following information in a bulleted format:

  1. Package name
  2. Package description (100 words maximum)
  3. URL for people to make a booking
  4. Images (at least 2)
  5. Any terms and conditions
  6. Key contact for questions regarding booking (Name, phone, email)

BookDirect Shows No Signs of Slowing

2012 was the inaugural year of BookDirect being placed on to allow thousands of Finger Lakes visitors to explore regional availability at area accommodations. FLTA staff is excited to report that 2012 resulted in 135,722 BookDirect searches conducted by visitors and 142,234 referrals to FLTA partner businesses. The 2013 Finger Lakes travel guide also includes verbiage about visitors’ ability to BookDirect on FLTA is looking forward to bringing even great 2013 visitation numbers. With the 2013 travel guide production increasing to 125,000 copies, we’re sure to see even better performance! Thank you for your continued partnership and support in 2013! 2013 Travel Guide Coming Soon

We’ve been hard at work with partner cooperation over the past month putting together the 2013 travel guide. Every year we work to improve upon on travel guide and make it the most encompassing resource possible for potential Finger Lakes visitors. We love working with our partner businesses to promote them and gain maximum exposure. The 2013 Finger Lakes travel guide will be hot off the presses and in the FLTA office in mid-January.
