Success for the Finger Lakes is never bad news, right?! FLTA has seen some great media relations success over the past few weeks with large media outlets highlighting the Finger Lakes region. Pittsburgh Tribune writer Chris Ramirez reached out to FLTA for regional photography on a Finger Lakes focused article. Partners such as The Corning Museum of Glass, New York Wine and Culinary Center, Greek Peak Mountain Resort, and the Harriet Tubman home were all included in the article with additional partners featured as images. For those that live in the Finger Lakes, we know that exploring the 9,000 square mile region that is our backyard can take hours and sometimes days even, right? Away.com just this month voted the Finger Lakes region as one of 2013’s Best Four Day Vacations. One day or four, we completely agree with Away.com that a visit to the Finger Lakes makes for a guaranteed great vacation. Breaking New Ground – Mobile Advertising
In 2010 FLTA launched its first ever mobile website for FingerLakes.org. The FLTA office has seen a HUGE upswing in the number of website visitors accessing information from a mobile device. Maybe it’s because we’re always on the go or we just have too much going on to break us away from our phones; this mobile platform is trending and shows no signs of slowing anytime in the near future. Taking this into consideration, FLTA is looking to harness this potential and thanks to IT Administrator Jack Carlson, FLTA is ready to launch the feature of banner advertisements on the mobile version of FingerLakes.org. Banner advertisements can be placed on any page within the mobile site. To discuss this opportunity further please contact Jessica Robideau or Mark Illig at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or by phone at 315-536-7488.
Thruway Information Centers
Millions of people drive on the NYS Thruway and Interstate 86 each year. The Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance’s brochure distribution programs are uniquely positioned to reach these potential customers. There are information centers at Warners (between exits 39 and 40 West on the Thruway), Pembroke (between 48 and 48A East on the Thruway) and Chautauqua Welcome Centers (located I-86 East). These info centers are a tremendous opportunity to showcase your business to those already on the road, or give them inspiration for their next trip. Pembroke and Warner's stops saw roughly 50,000 visitors stop in looking for information. 129,000 pieces of partner information were distributed throughout the year. Distribution numbers for each business' brochure are tracked to ensure as a partner, you know exactly how many people are picking up your information. For more information on this program or to sign up, call the FLTA office at 315-536-7488 or contact sales director Mark Illig at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Looking to Target the Group Travel Market?
The group travel market seems to continue to grow year over year. FLTA is increasing its exposure at group travel conventions in 2013 and looking to bring even more groups and visitors to the Finger Lakes region. Get your business materials in front of key decisions makers within the group travel market by becoming a brochure sponsor at one of FLTA's upcoming trade shows. In the coming months Jessica will attend the Heartland Travel Showcase in Toledo Ohio and the Pennsylvania Bus Assocation Marketplace in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. Jessica will meet with group leaders and motorcoach operators and as a follow up will send a Finger Lakes travel guide, Group Tour Planner and specific business information to each operator and group leader she met with. As a brochure sponsor, your business materials will go into each one of these follow up packets and reach the hands of these key decision makers. Promote growth in numbers and contact Jessica for more information to get involved, email@example.com.
