Finger Lakes Trails and Eastern Explorations - 3 Days

Day 1

Begin your Finger Lakes experience in the east at Destiny USA, a shopping, dining, and activity experience all in one location. Take in a more leisurely day at the  Erie Canal Museum, or the vast array of dining and shopping options throughout the Syracuse community. Find a variety of accommodation options for any group’s needs.

Day 2

Take a scenic drive along route 5 & 20 from Syracuse to Auburn where you will diverge and head south to the charming village of Aurora. Take in a cooking class or demonstration at the Inns of Aurora or for an educational experience learn how financial institution Wells-Fargo got its start in the village of Aurora. Be sure to stop at Pumpkin Hill Bistro for a snack or dining options. Take in some afternoon shopping with retail experiences galore at nearby Waterloo Premium Outlets on your way to Geneva for an overnight. Accommodation and evening dining options such as the Quality Inn Waterloo, 41 Lake Front Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham, and Woody's Bar & Grille or boutique locations such as the Gould Hotel can be found along Routes 5&20 from Auburn to Geneva.

 

Day 3

Start your day at Rose Hill Mansion in Geneva for a panoramic view of Seneca Lake and start a tour of one of American’s finest examples of Greek Revival architecture. This elegant country estate reflects the social and cultural environment that prevailed in the 1840’s. Scoot down the road to Ventosa Vineyards & Cafe to jump from the setting a Greek Revival to a villa in Tuscany. Savor wine tastings and lunch while enjoying breathtaking views of vineyards and northern Seneca Lake. Trails are the theme in the Finger Lakes so head south stopping at various farms along the Finger Lakes Cheese Alliance which are dotted throughout the Finger Lakes region. Heading south you will be able to sample beer and wine at Wagner Vineyards. Then it’s back on the trail to discover one of the Finger Lakes’ newest trends, craft distilleries. Visit Finger Lakes Distilling, where guests will enjoy award winning spirits, where guests can look down and view the production facility and see where the master distiller creates the lively juice. Meyer Farms Distillers is another new distillery to the region where everything from gin to bourbon, vodka and more can be sampled and purchased. Dining and accommodation options are bountiful in the nearby Corning, Elmira, Horseheads, Watkins Glen and Ithaca areas.
