Corning Community College to Host 50th Anniversary Film and Food Festival

Corning, NY (October 1, 2007) – As part of Corning Community College’s 50th Anniversary celebration, a Film and Food Festival will be planned throughout the year at Palace Theatre, 17 West Market Street, Corning, beginning Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 6 p.m. Our first showing, American Graffiti, will be hosted by Mike Gilmartin, Professor Emeritus of English. Featured movies will reflect our 50-year history and be hosted by current and retiredfaculty members.

Additional events will be held on:
November 20, 2007 - Dr. Strangelove, hosted by Gary Yoggy, Professor Emeritus of History.
January 15, 2008 - The Deer Hunter, hosted by Bob McEnroe, Professor Emeritus of French and Spanish.
February 19, 2008 - The Big Chill, hosted by Paul McNaney, Associate Professor, English.
March 18, 2008 - Do The Right Thing, hosted by Christine Atkins, Visiting Assistant Professor, English.
April 15, 2008 - The Truman Show, hosted by Paul McNaney, Associate Professor, English.

The Film and Food Festival events require a $10 ticket admission fee per movie or all six showings for $50. Appetizers and beverages will be served prior to the movie with free concession items provided.
