Corning Community College to Collaborate with Alligator Mouth
Improv to Present “Swallowing Fire, Etc.”

Corning, NY (October 1, 2007) – Corning Community College will offer something completely different to area audiences, when Alligator Mouth Improv visits the Spencer Hill campus during the month of October. The improvisation group will be guest artists at CCC as they lead students, faculty, and community members in workshops and rehearsals. The cast will present four performances of a show titled, “Swallowing Fire, Etc.” on Thursday, October 25; Friday, October 26; and Saturday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, October 28 at 2 p.m. in the Science Amphitheatre, Spencer Hill Campus.

“Swallowing Fire, Etc.” is theatre on the cutting edge. The immediacy of the performance and the intimate relationship of performer to audience make an Alligator Mouth Improv show unlike any other theatre experience.

Alligator Mouth Improv is led by artistic director Rhonda Morton of Corning. Morton, along with Alligator Mouth Improv’s instrumentalist, Peter Chwazik, and performer, Jaydn McCune, will work with an ensemble composed of CCC students and community artists, brought together for the first time. They will create magical theatrical worlds from ideas the audience contributes just before show time.

Every performance of “Swallowing Fire, Etc.” will feature storytelling, vocal improvisations, and movement pieces, all created in the moment and built collaboratively by the guest artists of Alligator Mouth Improv and the ensemble.
