Responding to Change in the Travel and Tourism Industry
Know Your Customer

Cayuga County, NY (October 17, 2007) – The Cayuga County Office of Tourism will hold a workshop on Thursday, November 8, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the Holiday Inn – Auburn/Finger Lakes to help tourism businesses and services respond to change in the travel and tourism industry. The workshop, “Know Your Customer,” will be led by Alexa Gifford, Executive Director of the New York State Wine and Culinary Center (NYWCC) in Canandaigua. NYWCC is an educational and experiential gateway to New York State's wine, food and culinary industries and is a stunning showcase for exhibitions, classes and eating and drinking experiences. Alexa Gifford, former President of the Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance, leads the team at this $7.5 million facility. Ms. Gifford will speak about what visitors to the Finger Lakes want and how area businesses can capitalize on their interests by offering unique products, services and experiences.
