Guye Fawkes Bonfire Charity event at Cobtree November 3rd 2007
in support of the WLRFA

Geneva, NY (November 7, 2007) – A great time was had by the 180 people attending this event and the evening was kicked off by the Crooked Lake Fiddlers from Penn Yan with their members playing traditional country music, many playing their own home made fiddles, wash board and Bass drums and accompanied by a band member playing the accordion. Then came the traditional lighting of the huge bonfire overlooking Seneca Lake. Although there was a slight chill in the air and a brisk North West wind guests simply huddled near to the fire keeping warm and enjoying the clear night skies with all the stars shining so brightly and the glimmering of Seneca Lake to the East. After a while guests retired to the barn to enjoy the pig roast and other culinary delights prepared by their hosts at Cobtree and the scrumptious Mulled Cider. This second annual event could not have been such a tremendous success without the charitable work of all those individuals and organizations involved in this event from the ticket sellers, pig roaster, the WLRFA, our neighbors Ruth and Jim Hundertmark and of course, all of the media (particularly the Finger Lakes Times, The Finger Lakes Radio Group, Fingerlakes1.com and the Democrat and Chronicle to name but a few) their help promoted this event once again this year. Our many thanks to anybody else that may have been forgotten!

Over $300 was raised for the WLRFA and this event is certain to prove to be an even greater event in 2008. On this note, Cobtree is looking for deserving causes in which to raise money for their 2008 event and interested parties may send a letter outlining why they would be such a deserving cause to Cobtree, P.O Box 1038, Geneva, NY 14456
