Tourism Office to Host Familiarization Tour
Front-line hospitality staff to learn about key attractions

Cayuga County, NY (April 16, 2008) – Front-line hospitality staff (i.e. front desk, box office, docents, wine tasting room, wait staff, etc.) that serve our visitors every day can recommend places to go and things to do much better when they experience them first hand. With this in mind, the Cayuga County Office of Tourism is hosting a FREE familiarization tour of the Auburn area for our local tourism partners on Thursday, May 8, 2008.

The tour will start at the Holiday Inn Auburn/Finger Lakes where the group will travel to Emerson Park on Owasco Lake for a visit to the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, followed by a tour of the Park, a little disc golf and a quick our of the Ward O’Hara Agricultural Museum. Lunch will be served at The Springside Inn, where a “Tools for Tourism” session will be held to let participants know about the various services and information the Cayuga County Office of Tourism provides to assist visitors. After lunch, the group will head over to The Center, a unique sanctuary that provides services for relaxation and rejuvenation in a spa setting. The day will end with dessert and entertainment at Auburn Public Theater, downtown Auburn’s cultural center.

The tour is completely FREE to anyone who works in the tourism industry and serves visitors on a regular basis. For more details and to register, call the Cayuga County Office of Tourism at 315-255-1658 by May 1st
