SENECA LAKE WINE TRAIL ACQUIRES 4 NEW MEMBER WINERIES
With 36 total Members, the Seneca Lake Wine Trail remains
one of the largest wine trails east of the West Coast
Watkins-Glen, NY (September 12, 2007) – Having commenced planting of their vines years ago, Vineyard Manager Mike Schnelle has been hard at work preparing their estate winery for wife and Winemaker Nancy Irelan's arrival at Red Tail Ridge Winery. With a discrete set of available wines at opening, with more coming soon, Red Tail Ridge Winery prides itself on the creation of wines that capably reflect the Appellation's terroir.
Stony Lonesome Wine Cellars, Passion Feet Wine & Vineyard Barn and Rogue's Hollow Winery are all collocated on the grounds of the esteemed Nagy's New Land Vineyard and Winery on the Northeast corner of Seneca Lake. The three wineries, literally owned by three brothers from the Rochester area, together form Three Brother's Wineries. Each of these wineries possesses distinctively styled wines appealing to the spectrum of wine enthusiasts from the sweetest native grapes, to the driest Riesling and everything in between. With a banquet room, planned Starbucks kiosk, an overnight wedding suite and a host of other attributes, these wineries together almost form their own little "mini-Trail" and set a new standard for wineries in the Finger Lakes Region.
"New York's wine industry is in the midst of another period of significant expansion." Stated Paul Thomas, executive director of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. "And clearly leading that charge is Seneca Lake which is not only the deepest lake in the region, with a comparably superlative growing season, but also boasts the densest concentration of wineries on the East Coast. With each passing year, as we add more and more wineries to our roster, we look forward to becoming an even more compelling attraction for visitors around the state, region and country."
