National Hunting & Fishing Day Weekend Seminars At Auburn Bass Pro Shops

Auburn, N.Y. – National Hunting & Fishing Day will be celebrated this year on Saturday, September 27. Locally, Bass Pro Shops Sportsman’s Center in the Fingerlakes Mall will host a couple of seminars that weekend to help sportsmen and women learn more about the great outdoors.  Redhead Pro Staffer Tony D’Agostino has hunted big game allover North America and overseas as well. Tony will give a couple of Outdoor Skills Workshop seminars in the hunting department on Saturday afternoon at 1 pm and 3 pm on “Whitetail Deer Management.” Bass Pro Shop’s fishing pro staffer Captain Tony Buffa is one of the most popular and widely known guides on Lake Ontario for trout and salmon and for walleye on Oneida Lake. Tony will give two seminars at the fish tank on Sunday, September 28 at 2 pm and 4 pm on “Fall Time Walleyes On Oneida Lake.” All seminars both days are free.

Outdoor television star Michael Waddell has been selected as honorary chairman for this year’s National Hunting and Fishing Day. In the volunteer role, Waddell becomes the official spokesman for the annual commemoration’s key message: Conservation succeeds only because of America’s 34 million hunters and anglers. In fact, through license fees and excise taxes, hunters and anglers generate $100,000 every 30 minutes for fish, wildlife and habitat programs.
