Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance Names Kimble President
Penn Yan, NY (September 19, 2007) – The Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance (FLTA) board of directors announced today that Cynthia Kimble has been named as the new President effective November 1, 2007. Kimble joins FLTA from the Schuler County Chamber of Commerce where she has been President since April 2006 and replaces Michael Rusinko who recently resigned to pursue other career opportunities.
Gene Pierce Past Chairman of the board stated that “We are excited to have someone of Cindy’s caliber leading our organization. Given her experience in the tourism industry and working and living in the region she will be a great asset.”
Prior to her recent role as President of the Schuyler County Chamber of Commerce, Kimble’s background includes financial, marketing and management experience. She spent nearly 14 years at the Canandaigua Area Chamber of Commerce as Vice President, Financial Manager and BlueCross/Blue Shield Administrator. She also served as Risk Management Supervisor of Paychex located in nearby Henrietta, NY. Kimble holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from St. John Fisher College. Kimble said “The Finger Lakes region is a growth market with an ever growing potential presenting wonderful opportunities for tourism and the Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance. I look forward to exploring these potential growth opportunities in the region. This is a very exciting career opportunity for me.”
The Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance is a tourism development organization founded in 1919. Considered the official tourism promotional agency for New York’s Finger Lakes region, FLTA is an association of private-sector attractions, tourism-related businesses and county tourism offices working together to enhance and promote visitor business for the 9,000 square-mile Finger Lakes region.
