Nature lovers will marvel at the sites and sounds of the Cayuga Nature Center, part of the Discovery Trail www.discoverytrail.com, Sapsucker Woods Bird Sanctuary at Cornell University (www.cornell.edu) in Ithaca, and the Cumming Nature Center in Naples www.rmsc.org offer the whole family a look at the flora and fauna of the Finger Lakes.
Camping, hiking and biking opportunities abound in a variety of themes. Bring the family to a tame campground or walk on the wild side along miles and miles of groomed hiking trails such as the Outlet Trail which follows the outlet between Keuka and Seneca Lake or Catharine Valley Trail south of Montour Falls. As you make your way along these trails, you’ll find access to spectacular waterfalls and incredible vistas overlooking the lakes and gorges.
For golfers and tennis buffs we have the best including world-class link and professional level courses. You’ll be pleased to discover a large number of quality public golf courses and tennis courts readily available.
In the winter the action heats up. We have several ski resorts such as Greek Peak Mountain Resort and Labrador Mountain in the Cortland area, Bristol Mountain Winter Resort near Canandaigua, and Swain Winter Resort in Swain, New York. There are miles of groomed trails for skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling with ample room for every skill level.
