The pilot recognizes the severity of his situation and springs to action. He is frantically trying to repair his wrecked plane when a small boy interrupts and asks him to draw a sheep. Who is this mysterious child, where did he come from, and what is he doing so far from civilization?

The Little Prince is an enchanting theatrical production for all ages. In this unique take on the classic tale, audience members young and old are invited to experience the wonderment of childhood as The Little Prince transports them to exotic worlds and introduces them to whimsical characters. Meet a bombastic king, a talking rose and a cheerful fox who is eager to be domesticated. Through the eyes of the Little Prince, the pilot gains unique insights into love, loss, and laughter.

This magical Swazzle production features a script adapted for the stage by Rick Cummings and John Scoullar, based on the book The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The show utilizes handcrafted puppets, live actors, original music and innovative projection techniques to bring the heart-warming story of The Little Prince to life.

The Rockwell gets theatrical for April with an encore performance by Corning Community College Students! Meet the eternal Andy Warhol who will be roaming through the museum, as well as his art (which will speak for itself).

Quite literally, the subjects of Warhols “Cowboys and Indians” series of paintings will appear in human form to speak to you. President Theodore Roosevelt, Markswoman Annie Oakley, and Movie Star John Wayne will introduce themselves in their own words.

This performance is an ode to these American heroes by painting a true picture on who these people truly are inside and out by not hiding the good, the bad, or the ugly. This historical vignette is written and performed by Corning Community College students Joseph Davis (Presidential Scholar), Andrew Fish, Anita Slater and Trevor Brown.

The performance is part of a course taught by Professor Mary Guzzy – CCC partnered with The Rockwell to bring this new Student-Artist-in-Residence program to life. Davis researched, developed and wrote a short historical vignette inspired by five of the Andy Warhol silkscreens in The Rockwell collection.

What is Urban Arts Crawl? The Urban Arts Crawl celebrates the burgeoning, unique art scene in historic Downtown Corning, each month presenting distinct artists, exhibitions, and cultural experiences.

A self-guided, art-centric trail held on the final Friday of each month (September through May), The Crawl includes stops at internationally acclaimed museums, community art centers and independent galleries alike. Artist talks, demonstrations, exhibition openings, modern dance performances, public art projects, live music, craft beverage tastings and more make The Crawl a truly festive and diverse experience.

Whether you’re a seasoned art collector or just out to see something different, the Urban Arts Crawl in Corning will delight your creative side. Each month, Urban Corning wraps up the evening for the post-crawl meet-up! Plan to spend your evening on Historic Market Street with various social opportunities at local bars and restaurants post-crawl.
