Snowzilla 5K Run and Kids Candy Cane 1.6 K Run
Run to kick off the Holiday Season. Help support our Holiday attractions at the Lights on the River Festival on December 6. 5 K Run begins at 9 am, Kids Run begins at 11 am. 5 K pre-registration-$15; 1.6K Kids Run $7 Pre-registration deadline Nov. 9 at noon. 5K day of race $20; kids run $10. The kids run 5-12 yrs only. Prizes for different age groups. All runners receive a free embroidered knit hat, bottles of water, and snacks after the race. Farm-to-Table Wine & Cooking Class Tour
Our wine and cooking class series is offered once each month throughout the year. This event includes an intimate wine tasting at a notable Finger Lakes winery, a local farm experience, and an intimate cooking class with regional chef Samantha Buyskes. Immerse yourself in the bounty of the Finger Lakes. On this one-of-a-kind culinary wine tour, you will create your own Finger Lakes meal from the ground up. We start our morning with a visit to a Finger Lakes working farm, such as one of the dairy With the goats at Lively Run Dairyfarms featured on the Finger Lakes Cheese Trail, or an organic produce farm. Here, you will tour and taste the bounty right from the source, and then enjoy it again later as an ingredient in your cooking class meal. You might even make some new animal friends along the way. Next, we make our way to Silver Thread Vineyards, you Enjoying Tank Samples at Sheldrake Point Vineyardswill enjoy a vineyard tour or winery experience with the owner that corresponds with the harvest. followed by their wine tasting paired with local cheese. - The group's favorite will be featured as part of your cooking class experience later in the afternoon. The tour culminates with a cooking class and meal experience with regional celebrity chef Samantha Buyskes. Alongside Chef Samantha, you will learn and discover the beauty of ingredients grown and locally Cooking with Chef Samantha Buyskessourced right here in the heart of the Finger Lakes. During the 3-hour class, you join Chef Samantha as she prepares and demonstrates the creation of a three-course meal featuring the local farm ingredients and wines experienced earlier in the tour. Enjoy the flavors of the Finger Lakes as you learn about preparation and cooking methods, shopping tips, and the magic behind the wonderful regional food of our area. The theme and menu of the class changes each month. Join us for this very special tour series, expand your mind, palate and skills as you indulge in the wonders of the Finger Lakes. VIP Verticle Wine Tasting at Standing Stone
Guests will be invited to compare the difference between aged wine and "young" wine, as well as the unique flavors created in each vintage by different growing conditions. This tasting event illustrates how the characteristics of wine changes with age. Each vertical tasting is enhanced with food pairings created by Danos on Seneca. 2013 Event Dates: March 17th - Merlot April 21st - Gewurztraminer June 9th - Cabernet Sauvignon August 18th - Riesling September 15th - Pinot Noir November 17th - Saperavi

November Deck the Halls Weekend on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail

Location: The 30+ participating, member wineries of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail
Date/Time: November 22-24, 2013, Friday 1pm-5pm, Saturday/Sunday 10am-5pm
Description: Go to your assigned starting winery and begin a weekend of fun and festivities while sampling holiday wines and food tastings. The wineries are decorated for the holiday season. Over the two day weekend event, visit the participating wineries, receive a recipe book and collect ornaments to decorate your handmade grapevine wreath. The Christmas House, located in nearby Elmira, NY.
