Skaneateles

"Long Lake" Area 8,960 acres Length 15 miles Shoreline 31 miles Max. Depth 315 feet Max. Width 1 mile Volume 424.5 billion gallons Elevation 863 feet Largest town Skaneateles Characteristics Cold, clean water with shale base. Skaneateles has steep hillsides at southern end and is the third deepest Finger Lake.

Towns 

Skaneateles Village is on the northern shore, easily located on Genesse St  (Rt 5 & 20).    You will find beautiful houses, mansions and plenty of accommodations for visitors.   The village has many shops, galleries and excellent dining options.  Summer months visitors can enjoy some of the parks along the downtown district,  Fridays night music in the park or enjoy a boat cruise on the lake.   In December actors in period costume perform a Dickens Christmas on the streets.

 

Beaches & Parks

Clift Park  -Swimming is allowed at the village park on West Genesee St.  

 

Marina's 

Skaneateles Marina is a full service marina located 6 miles down the west side of the lake.
Town Boat Launch – Located on S.R. 41A, 5 miles south of the village.
NYS Public Boat Launch – S.R. 41A. 2.5 miles south of the villiage.
