Fun for the whole family

There are a number of great annual festivals and events throughout the Finger Lakes every year. Finger Lakes events showcase the rich character of our communities year-round.

The Finger Lakes are best known for the wine produced in this region and there is a festival to celebrate just that. The Seneca Lake Food and Wine Festival held in Watkins Glen at Clute Memorial Park is one of the events of the year to celebrate the wineries located along Seneca Lake, the region's most heavily populated wine trail. And how could you have wine without the cheese? Be sure to visit the Finger Lakes Cheese Festival to find the perfect cheeses to beautifully accompany the wine that best suites your palette. 

Need to work off the wine and cheese? Have no fear! The Finger Lakes proudly presents the Wineglass Marathon that was named a top destination and must-do marathon by Livestrong, Active Times, and others, the Wineglass course is a fast, flat, and scenic point-to-point course through the southern Finger Lakes, and a Boston Marathon qualifier race.

GlassFest in Corning celebrates the long history of glass and glassmaking in Corning, with many events held in Corning’s Gaffer District and at the Corning Museum of Glass. Looking for out of the box unique celebrations of music, art, and more? Don’t miss the Rochester Fringe Festival celebrating the not so mainstream art of the ‘fringes’. More music abounds at the Geneva Music Festival with music and the arts taking place with celebrations around the Finger Lakes in various towns and communities. 

Celebrate your Scottish Heritage with a down home community feel at the Dundee Scottish Festival where you'll be wearing your kilt and tapping along to the bagpipes in no time. 

The region offers a wide variety of outdoor experiences, ways to connect with nature and beyond and all of those opportunities can be showcased at the Southern Tier Outdoor Show
