Annual Festivals & Special Events

Fun for the whole family

There are a number of great annual festivals and events throughout the Finger Lakes every year. Finger Lakes events showcase the rich character of our communities year-round.

The Finger Lakes is wine country, so don't forget to check on special events with our Wine Trail partners. But, there's much more to the Finger Lakes. Events centered around outdoor adventure, our rich history, the changing seasons, harvest season and the region's agricultural bounty, sport and music are never far away.

GlassFest in Corning celebrates the long history of glass and glassmaking in Corning, with many events held in Corning’s Gaffer District and at the Corning Museum of Glass. Looking for out of the box unique celebrations of music, art, and more? Don’t miss the Rochester Fringe Festival celebrating the not so mainstream art of the ‘fringes’. More music abounds at the Geneva Music Festival with music and the arts taking place with celebrations around the Finger Lakes in various towns and communities.

Live music can be found throughout the region nearly every day of the week by visiting our partner FLX Music 247.

Find true local culture in the county fairs hosted in each of the 14 counties of the Finger Lakes. There you will find the taste, sights and sounds of summer in the region.

LA VOIX FRANÇAISE

Friday, June 3, 2022: “La Voix Française”

Smith Opera House, 7:30 pm

Eliot Heaton, Geoffrey Herd, violin; Eric Wong, viola; Clive Greensmith, Max Geissler, cello; Esther Park, piano

Say “bon voyage,” and join GMF artists for a trip to France as we explore the birth of a distinct French musical voice at the turn of the century. From the shimmering, languid modulations of Fauré’s Piano Quartet No. 1 to Ravel’s incorporation of Basque dance rhythms in his Piano Trio, new approaches to harmony, timbre, and other musical elements give tonight’s music an entirely unique sensibility.

GABRIEL FAURÉ: Piano Quartet No. 1 in C minor, Op.15
MAURICE RAVEL: Trio in A minor
NADIA BOULANGER: Three Pieces for cello and piano
CLAUDE DEBUSSY: String Quartet

All programs subject to change.

Go to GenevaMusicFestival.com for event details and tickets.

Fairport Canal Days 2022
Fairport Canal Days
Fairport Canal Days is one of the most popular arts festivals in the Northeast, attracting close to 200,000 visitors on the first weekend of June every year. The festival features over 200 artisans, as well as a variety of music venues, food items, and booths by Fairport Perinton Merchants Association members who sponsor the event. The Canal Days festival began in the mid 1970s, growing exponentially over the years, but always remaining a family-friendly event with something for everyone.

Located on the historic Erie Canal, Fairport is a village filled with charm and character. Having received its name in the early 1800’s from a traveler who declared it a “fair port”, it remains a showcase stop for boaters to this day. Fairport’s “front porch friendly” streets echo its past with beautiful Victorian homes and historic buildings, blended with modern facilities and parks.

The first word that comes to mind for many when describing Fairport is “community”. Fairport Canal Days is the epitome of this word, a volunteer run event that welcomes you to be part of our community.
