The Memorial Art Gallery is pleased to announce the presentation of Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop | Works from the Bank of America Collection, featuring 79 original screenprints by the legendary American artist, film director, producer, and publisher Andy Warhol, as well as related ephemera and works depicting Warhol by other artists. This exhibition, loaned through the Bank of America Art in our Communities® program, will be view October 25, 2020 through March 28, 2021.

Presented in MAG’s Docent Gallery, Andy Warhol Portfolios showcases a broad range of the artist’s screen-printed imagery from 1964 to 1985. It includes not only quintessential works such as a 1967 portrait of Marilyn Monroe and the early print portfolios Campbell’s Soup II (1969) and Flowers (1970), but also less familiar subjects. Birmingham Race Riot (1964) and the complete portfolios of Muhammad Ali (1978), Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century (1980), and Myths (1981) are just a few of the subjects that underscore the breadth of Warhol’s interest in cultural and political life. The print portfolios Sunset (1972), Grapes (1979), Space Fruit (1979), Endangered Species (1983), and Vesuvius (1985) suggest a different set of concerns, with the traditional art historical subject matters of still-life, landscape, and also of the animal world. Andy Warhol Portfolios provides a rare opportunity to explore iconic Warhol—the renowned exponent and, simultaneously, critic of mass-media, popular culture, and commercialism—and also less well-known but nonetheless important aspects of the artist’s career, providing a fuller understanding of this major figure’s contributions and achievements.

Quilts=Art=Quilts is an international juried quilt exhibition at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, New York. The Art Center has been a longstanding proponent of quilts as a visual arts medium and has been presenting quilts in a gallery setting since 1981. An emphasis is placed on overall quality of design, originality and visual impact. Prizes will be awarded for excellence in design and workmanship in multiple categories, including $1,000 for Best in Show. Prizes are determined after the exhibit is installed.

the Festival of Trees will feature up to 30 decorated trees in the 1890 house. This event will run from December 3rd until January 3rd, 2021 and be included with the price of general admission.

Guests will be voting on which tree is the best so stay tuned to hear who the winner is at our upcoming New Year's High Tea!

Since we can't have our Annual German/American Christmas Market as usual we decided to have a bunch of vendors set up their things upstairs and we will open the upstairs "Wetmore Hall" on all three weekends leading up to Christmas from 10am - 4pm for all your Christmas shopping needs.
We have a bunch of fun and new vendors lined up. So stop in on any of these weekends.

Please keep in mind that masks are required at all times and we ask for your understanding that we need to ask shoppers to wait outside once capacity is reached. This has only happened once during our extremely busy fall season so we hope it won't happen much during these weekends.

Santa will be available on 12/5 and 12/6 for pictures by appointment only. Appointments can be booked after Sunday 11/8. We will share the link where appointments can be booked as soon as it's available.
Santa pictures will be outdoors so please dress accordingly.

The Bank of America Art in Our Communities Program was established in 2009 in order to share the company’s art collection with the widest possible audience. Comprising the art collections of the predecessor banks that are now part of Bank of America, the program offers museums and nonprofit galleries the opportunity to borrow complete or customized exhibitions at no cost. The public is able to enjoy new art installations at its local museums, while the museums themselves are able to generate vital revenue. This exhibition, loaned through the Bank of America Art in our Communities® program, will be view October 25, 2020 through March 28, 2021.

Presented in MAG’s Docent Gallery, Andy Warhol Portfolios showcases a broad range of the artist’s screen-printed imagery from 1964 to 1985. It includes not only quintessential works such as a 1967 portrait of Marilyn Monroe and the early print portfolios Campbell’s Soup II (1969) and Flowers (1970), but also less familiar subjects. Birmingham Race Riot (1964) and the complete portfolios of Muhammad Ali (1978), Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century (1980), and Myths (1981) are just a few of the subjects that underscore the breadth of Warhol’s interest in cultural and political life. The print portfolios Sunset (1972), Grapes (1979), Space Fruit (1979), Endangered Species (1983), and Vesuvius (1985) suggest a different set of concerns, with the traditional art historical subject matters of still-life, landscape, and also of the animal world. To comply with New York State COVID capacity restrictions, the Museum is offering our Breakfast with St. Nick pancake breakfast SIX times over the first three weekends of December! The Memorial Art Gallery is pleased to announce the presentation of Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop | Works from the Bank of America Collection, featuring 79 original screenprints by the legendary American artist, film director, producer, and publisher Andy Warhol, as well as related ephemera and works depicting Warhol by other artists. This exhibition, loaned through the Bank of America Art in our Communities® program, will be view October 25, 2020 through March 28, 2021.

Presented in MAG’s Docent Gallery, Andy Warhol Portfolios showcases a broad range of the artist’s screen-printed imagery from 1964 to 1985. It includes not only quintessential works such as a 1967 portrait of Marilyn Monroe and the early print portfolios Campbell’s Soup II (1969) and Flowers (1970), but also less familiar subjects. Birmingham Race Riot (1964) and the complete portfolios of Muhammad Ali (1978), Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century (1980), and Myths (1981) are just a few of the subjects that underscore the breadth of Warhol’s interest in cultural and political life. The print portfolios Sunset (1972), Grapes (1979), Space Fruit (1979), Endangered Species (1983), and Vesuvius (1985) suggest a different set of concerns, with the traditional art historical subject matters of still-life, landscape, and also of the animal world. Andy Warhol Portfolios provides a rare opportunity to explore iconic Warhol—the renowned exponent and, simultaneously, critic of mass-media, popular culture, and commercialism—and also less well-known but nonetheless important aspects of the artist’s career, providing a fuller understanding of this major figure’s contributions and achievements.

Quilts=Art=Quilts is an international juried quilt exhibition at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, New York. The Art Center has been a longstanding proponent of quilts as a visual arts medium and has been presenting quilts in a gallery setting since 1981. An emphasis is placed on overall quality of design, originality and visual impact. Prizes will be awarded for excellence in design and workmanship in multiple categories, including $1,000 for Best in Show. The Memorial Art Gallery is pleased to announce the presentation of Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop | Works from the Bank of America Collection, featuring 79 original screenprints by the legendary American artist, film director, producer, and publisher Andy Warhol, as well as related ephemera and works depicting Warhol by other artists. This exhibition, loaned through the Bank of America Art in our Communities® program, will be view October 25, 2020 through March 28, 2021.

Presented in MAG’s Docent Gallery, Andy Warhol Portfolios showcases a broad range of the artist’s screen-printed imagery from 1964 to 1985. It includes not only quintessential works such as a 1967 portrait of Marilyn Monroe and the early print portfolios Campbell’s Soup II (1969) and Flowers (1970), but also less familiar subjects. Birmingham Race Riot (1964) and the complete portfolios of Muhammad Ali (1978), Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century (1980), and Myths (1981) are just a few of the subjects that underscore the breadth of Warhol’s interest in cultural and political life. The print portfolios Sunset (1972), Grapes (1979), Space Fruit (1979), Endangered Species (1983), and Vesuvius (1985) suggest a different set of concerns, with the traditional art historical subject matters of still-life, landscape, and also of the animal world. Andy Warhol Portfolios provides a rare opportunity to explore iconic Warhol—the renowned exponent and, simultaneously, critic of mass-media, popular culture, and commercialism—and also less well-known but nonetheless important aspects of the artist’s career, providing a fuller understanding of this major figure’s contributions and achievements.

Stop by Town Hall or Brooks Grove Church for an array of timed programming, including the cathartic strains of holiday music and dramatic readings of classic holiday tales.

Since we can't have our Annual German/American Christmas Market as usual we decided to have a bunch of vendors set up their things upstairs and we will open the upstairs "Wetmore Hall" on all three weekends leading up to Christmas from 10am - 4pm for all your Christmas shopping needs.
We have a bunch of fun and new vendors lined up. So stop in on any of these weekends.

Please keep in mind that masks are required at all times and we ask for your understanding that we need to ask shoppers to wait outside once capacity is reached. This has only happened once during our extremely busy fall season so we hope it won't happen much during these weekends.

Celebrate the season with a magical medley of GCV&M holiday happenings on a self-guided excursion through the museum’s wide-open spaces! Stroll the Historic Village bedecked in its holiday finery amid villagers bustling with preparations, and offering greetings to their neighbors and friends. Visit nine historic homes open for small group visits to explore the evolution of seasonal customs, and how those customs influence our communities today. Pickup ideas for your holiday table as you savor the intoxicating scents of holiday dishes. Delight in high Victorian decorating, hear about Hannukah and the lighting of the menorah, investigate the growing popularity of gift-giving, experience the anticipation of a holiday wedding, and more. Stop by Town Hall or Brooks Grove Church for an array of timed programming, including the cathartic strains of holiday music and dramatic readings of classic holiday tales.

Since we can't have our Annual German/American Christmas Market as usual we decided to have a bunch of vendors set up their things upstairs and we will open the upstairs "Wetmore Hall" on all three weekends leading up to Christmas from 10am - 4pm for all your Christmas shopping needs.
We have a bunch of fun and new vendors lined up. So stop in on any of these weekends.

Please keep in mind that masks are required at all times and we ask for your understanding that we need to ask shoppers to wait outside once capacity is reached. This has only happened once during our extremely busy fall season so we hope it won't happen much during these weekends.

Presented in MAG’s Docent Gallery, Andy Warhol Portfolios showcases a broad range of the artist’s screen-printed imagery from 1964 to 1985. It includes not only quintessential works such as a 1967 portrait of Marilyn Monroe and the early print portfolios Campbell’s Soup II (1969) and Flowers (1970), but also less familiar subjects. Birmingham Race Riot (1964) and the complete portfolios of Muhammad Ali (1978), Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century (1980), and Myths (1981) are just a few of the subjects that underscore the breadth of Warhol’s interest in cultural and political life. The print portfolios Sunset (1972), Grapes (1979), Space Fruit (1979), Endangered Species (1983), and Vesuvius (1985) suggest a different set of concerns, with the traditional art historical subject matters of still-life, landscape, and also of the animal world. Quilts=Art=Quilts is an international juried quilt exhibition at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, New York. The Art Center has been a longstanding proponent of quilts as a visual arts medium and has been presenting quilts in a gallery setting since 1981. An emphasis is placed on overall quality of design, originality and visual impact. Prizes will be awarded for excellence in design and workmanship in multiple categories, including $1,000 for Best in Show. Prizes are determined after the exhibit is installed.

The Memorial Art Gallery is pleased to announce the presentation of Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop | Works from the Bank of America Collection, featuring 79 original screenprints by the legendary American artist, film director, producer, and publisher Andy Warhol, as well as related ephemera and works depicting Warhol by other artists. This exhibition, loaned through the Bank of America Art in our Communities® program, will be view October 25, 2020 through March 28, 2021.

Presented in MAG’s Docent Gallery, Andy Warhol Portfolios showcases a broad range of the artist’s screen-printed imagery from 1964 to 1985. It includes not only quintessential works such as a 1967 portrait of Marilyn Monroe and the early print portfolios Campbell’s Soup II (1969) and Flowers (1970), but also less familiar subjects. Birmingham Race Riot (1964) and the complete portfolios of Muhammad Ali (1978), Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century (1980), and Myths (1981) are just a few of the subjects that underscore the breadth of Warhol’s interest in cultural and political life. The print portfolios Sunset (1972), Grapes (1979), Space Fruit (1979), Endangered Species (1983), and Vesuvius (1985) suggest a different set of concerns, with the traditional art historical subject matters of still-life, landscape, and also of the animal world. Andy Warhol Portfolios provides a rare opportunity to explore iconic Warhol—the renowned exponent and, simultaneously, critic of mass-media, popular culture, and commercialism—and also less well-known but nonetheless important aspects of the artist’s career, providing a fuller understanding of this major figure’s contributions and achievements.

“Bushwhacked British Bake Off: Holiday Edition” has 2 virtual performances

Rochester, NY – KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival announces its first-ever, off-season offering with a special, virtual holiday show created by Fringe comedy favorites Kerry Young and Abby DeVuyst: Bushwhacked British Bake Off: Holiday Edition.  

Famous for their annual sell-outs including Dashboard Dramas, Drive-In Dramas, Hot Tub: The Musical, and seemingly endless varieties of improvised Bushwhacked shows (including 2019’s Bushwhacked British Bake Off), the barmy ladies are back to help spread some much-needed holiday cheer. Over the course of one hour – using a Zoom format and their own kitchens – audience members will tackle tricky trials and tasty tribulations in their quest to be crowned as the Bushwhacked British Holiday Bake Off Champion. On your marks, get set, bake!

The two live-streamed, interactive performances will take place on Saturday, December 26 at 2 PM and Wednesday, December 30 at 7 PM. They covered all the festival’s usual wide range of genres: Comedy, Dance, Kids Fringe, Multidisciplinary, Music, Spoken Word, Theatre, and Visual Arts & Film. 2019’s KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival featured more than 650 performances and events – over 200 of them free – and broke all previous attendance records with more than 100,000 visitors. From its five-day debut in 2012, the has become one of the fastest-growing and most-attended fringe festivals in the U.S.  It is also the largest multidisciplinary performing arts festival in New York State. Join us virtually in the studios of artists from all over the country. Artists' studio spaces can be as creatively designed as their own artwork, whether they are at home, in another location, or even just at a desk. This video series is interested in the places where art is made.  

Our first Studio Visit is with San Francisco Artist Joe Cunningham: Joe has been making quilts, writing about quilts, talking about quilts, and teaching quilt making since 1979. He has been widely published and has had his quilts shown and acquired by major museums. Building from an understanding of traditional quilts, Cunningham has found a way to express his ideas in original quilt terms. He has been featured on the PBS program Craft in America, and continues to travel widely to teach and lecture.

This exhibition, loaned through the Bank of America Art in our Communities® program, will be view October 25, 2020 through March 28, 2021.

Presented in MAG’s Docent Gallery, Andy Warhol Portfolios showcases a broad range of the artist’s screen-printed imagery from 1964 to 1985. It includes not only quintessential works such as a 1967 portrait of Marilyn Monroe and the early print portfolios Campbell’s Soup II (1969) and Flowers (1970), but also less familiar subjects. Birmingham Race Riot (1964) and the complete portfolios of Muhammad Ali (1978), Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century (1980), and Myths (1981) are just a few of the subjects that underscore the breadth of Warhol’s interest in cultural and political life. The print portfolios Sunset (1972), Grapes (1979), Space Fruit (1979), Endangered Species (1983), and Vesuvius (1985) suggest a different set of concerns, with the traditional art historical subject matters of still-life, landscape, and also of the animal world. Andy Warhol Portfolios provides a rare opportunity to explore iconic Warhol—the renowned exponent and, simultaneously, critic of mass-media, popular culture, and commercialism—and also less well-known but nonetheless important aspects of the artist’s career, providing a fuller understanding of this major figure’s contributions and achievements.

Join us virtually in the studios of artists from all over the country. Artists' studio spaces can be as creatively designed as their own artwork, whether they are at home, in another location, or even just at a desk. This video series is interested in the places where art is made.  

Our first Studio Visit is with San Francisco Artist Joe Cunningham: Joe has been making quilts, writing about quilts, talking about quilts, and teaching quilt making since 1979. He has been widely published and has had his quilts shown and acquired by major museums. Building from an understanding of traditional quilts, Cunningham has found a way to express his ideas in original quilt terms. He has been featured on the PBS program Craft in America, and continues to travel widely to teach and lecture.

The Memorial Art Gallery is pleased to announce the presentation of Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop | Works from the Bank of America Collection, featuring 79 original screenprints by the legendary American artist, film director, producer, and publisher Andy Warhol, as well as related ephemera and works depicting Warhol by other artists. the Festival of Trees will feature up to 30 decorated trees in the 1890 house. This event will run from December 3rd until January 3rd, 2021 and be included with the price of general admission.

Guests will be voting on which tree is the best so stay tuned to hear who the winner is at our upcoming New Year's High Tea!
