Now in its third year, Historic Ithaca’s free Walk & Talk series brings you a taste of historic architecture and sites around Tompkins County through guided walking tours.
On Saturday, June 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., explore The Byway with Forest Home Historian Bruce Brittain. The Byway is a former loop of Forest Home Drive along Fall Creek in the Town of Ithaca. This short stretch of road has the highest density of nineteenth century mill remnants and mill-era houses in Forest Home.
Meet at the end of The Byway that is adjacent to the downstream bridge. There is no parking on-site. Park in the Cornell Botanic Garden’s Wildflower Garden parking lot or the Nevin Welcome Center parking lot.
Although the tour is free, registration is strongly encouraged at http://www.historicithaca.org/walk-and-talk/ so that we can send updates and notifications of any cancellations or weather-related changes.
The Walk and Talk series is sponsored by Tompkins Trust Company and the Tompkins County Tourism Program.
