Now in its third year, Historic Ithaca’s free Walk & Talk series brings you a taste of historic architecture and sites around Tompkins County through guided walking tours.
On Saturday, July 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., explore the Grove Cemetery in Trumansburg with Cemetery Association President David Allen his wife, Karen Allen, and John Wertis, Grove Cemetery Trustee and Town of Ulysses Historian. Established in 1847 under the New York State Act for the Incorporation of “Rural Cemeteries,” Grove Cemetery is one of the oldest active cemeteries in Tompkins County. From the center of the cemetery we will circle through several of the sections and conclude the tour inside the 1892 Chapel.
Meet at Grove Cemetery, 8825 Falls Road, Trumansburg.
Although the tour is free, registration is strongly encouraged at http://www.historicithaca.org/walk-and-talk/ so that we can send updates and notifications of any cancellations or weather-related changes.
The Walk and Talk series is sponsored by Tompkins Trust Company and the Tompkins County Tourism Program.
