ABOUT THE RMSC COUNCIL

RMSC Council was initiated in 1941 when several Rochester women decided to form a Women’s Council for social interaction and fundraising support for the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC). These women volunteered their time and energy by creating special activities and annual fundraising events.

In 2018, the RMSC Women’s Council opened its membership to men and women, changed its name to the more inclusive RMSC Council, and expanded its mission to provide educational programming to the Rochester community. Since its inception 80 years ago, RMSC Council has proudly donated close to $2.8 million to RMSC through creative and invaluable fundraising efforts.

Piano Brunch Sundays
Piano Brunch

– Radisson Corning’s new Food & Beverage Director, Will Bradley, is making his presence known by elevating the guest experience as the hotel prepares to transition and upscale to a Hilton-branded property later this year.  Supported by a dedicated culinary team led by new Executive Chef Bill Winnie, Radisson Corning is now featuring weekend grill outs, Sunday piano brunches, new farm-to-table menu options, and more at the its signature restaurants, Grill 1-2-5 and Market Street Social.

Piano Brunch: Every Sunday
Every Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm, Radisson’s modern American restaurant, Grill 1-2-5, now features a piano brunch where patrons can enjoy live music and Chef Bill’s farm-driven menu.  Guests are invited to sit back with family and friends while the pianist tickles the keys and choose from an assortment of delectable brunch items, such as giant homemade cinnamon buns, brunch style bruschetta, Eggs Mornay, chicken and waffles, steak and eggs, and more.  In addition, an extensive hand-crafted cocktail and bloody mary menu will help win over even the most discerning palate.   Reservations are encouraged by contacting the restaurant directly at 607.962.5000 ext 127.

Father’s Day Piano Brunch: June 18
On Sunday, June 18th from 11 am to 2 pm, all fathers will be honored with a feast fit for a king at Grill 1-2-5.  While the pianist sets the jazzy tone, dads will be feted with a Father’s Day brunch that includes chef-crafted ala carte dishes like Prime Rib for only $36, signature chicken and waffles for $24, and customized omelets for $17.   Radisson’s in-house mixologist will be on-hand creating opulent craft cocktails tailored to dad’s liking. Reservations are required by contacting the restaurant directly at 607.962.5000 ext 127.

Weekend Cookouts and Live Music at Market Street Social
Located between the Radisson’s north and south buildings directly on the Market Street ped walk, the Radisson’s outdoor dining and entertainment venue, Market Street Social, offers alfresco dining and craft cocktails in downtown Corning Tuesdays through Saturdays from 4 pm to 10 pm (and Sundays until 9 pm).  Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Chef Bill fires up the outdoor grill for an All-American Cookout, where he grills up fresh cheeseburgers, Italian sausages, and chicken skewers from 4 pm to 9 pm in addition to offering his full dinner menu (except on Sundays, which only features the Cookout menu).   Guests of Market Street Social can also catch a no-cover concert under the stars every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6 pm to 9 pm.  The upcoming Market Street Social LIVE schedule includes: Wendy and James, June 15 – Mike Lucey, June 16 – Can’t Count Trio, June 17 – Mike Giannone, June 22 – Sam Swanson, June 23 – Dianna & The Crew, June 24 – Leah Brown and The Side Hustle, June 29 – Brian Hughes, June 30 – Simon & Longwell, July 6 – Virgil Cane, July 8 – Brian Moore, July 13 – John Bolger, July 14 – Friend Zoned, July 15 – Blue Eyed Soul, July 20 – Brian Hughes, July 21 – Doc Possum, July 22 – Simon & Longwell, July 27 – Sam Swanson, July 28 – Can’t Count Trio, July 29 – Nick Leduc.  More dates to be announced soon.

New Farm-to-Table Menu Offerings
Radisson Corning is continuing to elevate its food and beverage program behind the leadership of Will and Chef Bill.  By incorporating more local, farm-driven products, a new kitchen persona is beginning to take shape.  Recipes are being revised to feature the best local farms and purveyors.  In addition to some of the Finger Lakes most notable wines, Grill 1-2-5 and Market Street Social are now offering farm-to-table menu items, as for example the First New York State Cheese Board which launched on National Cheese Day (June 4).  The board includes Lively Run Blue Yonder – a bleu cheese from Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes, Muranda Cheese Company's Dilly Girl – a dill infused cheddar from a Waterloo, NY creamery, Old Chatham Creamery's Camembert – a slightly less fatty Brie style cheese from the Southern Finger Lakes area East of Ithaca, and East Hill Creamery's Silver Lake – an alpine style cheese from a creamery near Letchworth State Park – in addition to an assortment of accoutrements either house-made or from the surrounding area.

The Treman Show

This episode of Walk in the Park is a guide to the natural and cultural features of this extraordinarily beautiful park near Ithaca, exploring its history, revealing its striking geology, and explaining its trails, mill museum, swimming area, and other amenities.

Better to ask yourself, what not to expect? The antics, while often merry, are unpredictable at best. Those who come for finely crafted wares are often overtaken by the thrill of the knights' fiery joust. And many, seeking to revel in a fine ale, all too often become smitten by the generous young wenches, only to return again and again. Step into the realm of 1585 Warwick, England and live an unexpected adventure of your very own
