Scavenger Hunt, Treats and Prizes

Upon arrival each child will receive a map and Scavenger Hunt clues which will guide them on an adventure through the Museum. Along the way collecting punches on their game card, as well as some special treats. All children who complete the hunt will be eligible to enter their name into the evening's drawings for some extra special gifts! There will be two name draws and 4 four lucky winners.

Back by popular demand! The Penn Yan Wing Walk is happening on March 5, 2022 from 12 to 4PM.

Go from stop to stop and get 2 chicken wings at each restaurant. After you are done, write your favorite wing on their Wing Walk Guide and turn it in for voting. The winning restaurant will be crowned "Best Wings in Penn Yan" and will be given a trophy to hold onto until the next year.  Each ticket holder will receive a free gift at registration.

The FREEDOM RIDERS is the latest edition to the canon of American history plays by Mad River.  It explores the valiant and courageous personalities behind one of the most critical chapters in the history of the civil rights movement. Set in 1961, fifteen years after the United States Supreme Court had outlawed segregation, bus lines and cities throughout the south still enforced a rigid system of separating black and white citizens. Building on a tradition of collaboration, The Rockwell Museum and The Corning Museum of Glass are pleased to once again team up to host an emerging contemporary artist in Corning.

This year we welcome artist Rachel Hellman, who will transform the Rockwell Museum’s rotunda with a site-specific, year-long installation as part of the ongoing Antigravity Project.

This annual commission is also coupled with a three-day guest appearance in The Corning Museum of Glass Amphitheater Hot Shop where Hellman will work collaboratively with the gaffers to experiment and realize her designs in glass.

In the late 1800s and early 1900s, photographers made stereographs of countless scenes throughout the country, including our beautiful gorges of the Finger Lakes region of central NY State. Using a stereoscope, a viewer could see a 3D image. Now there is a revival of the art of stereoscopy as exemplified by the new book, The Taughannock Falls Experience, by award-winning 3D photographer Diego Ruiz. 

Also in this encore episode of Walk in the Park from 2018, we will see some historic photographs of the great flood of 1935 and its impact on Robert H. Treman State Park. Three beloved stories by Eric Carle, award-winning children’s book illustrator and author, are retold on stage through the magic of black light and fanciful puppets. The Very Hungry Caterpillar follows the wonderful adventures of a very tiny and very hungry caterpillar as he eats his way through an amazing variety of foods on his path to becoming a beautiful butterfly.  High up in the sky, Little Cloud playfully transforms himself into various creatures, including a sheep, and an airplane, a shark and more. The Mixed-Up Chameleon is bored with his life, sitting about predictably changing colour all day. Following an adventurous trip to the zoo, he attempts to emulate the beautiful animals he sees before coming to the conclusion that there is value in his own unique self.

Adapted, designed and directed by Jim Morrow, with music by Steven Naylor and narration by Gordon Pinsent, the hour-long production features the imaginative approach to storytelling through theatre that has earned international recognition for Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia.

Twenty-five years on, composer Bill Whelan has rerecorded his mesmerising soundtrack while producer Moya Doherty and director John McColgan have completely reimagined the ground-breaking show with innovative and spectacular lighting, projection, stage and costume designs.

Riverdance began its journey as the interval act in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, produced for television by Moya Doherty. This electrifying and innovative seven minute dance piece was then developed into a full-length stage show by Producer Moya Doherty, Composer Bill Whelan and Director John McColgan. With its fusion of Irish and International music and dance, the show broke all box office records during its world première run in Dublin in early 1995. When the show transferred to London the reaction was unprecedented. There followed a hugely successful tour starting in New York in March 1996, where 8 sold-out shows at Radio City Music Hall heralded the start of two decades of touring by Riverdance companies throughout North America. Since its inception Riverdance has packed theatres throughout North America, Oceania, Asia, Europe, South Africa and South America.
