CANAL BOATS ON THE CHEMUNG RIVER
Connecting lakes to lakes and lakes to rivers was a very important part of the history of the development of the Finger Lakes Region. Join us on Thursday April 19, at 7:00 P.M. at The Chemung County History Society, 415 Water Street, Elmira. Local historian Gary Emerson will discuss the importance of this history and the uses of the canal boats that connected the Chemung River to various points around the state.
