“A high-energy… hymn to the glories of girlishness.” – The New York Times

OMG you guys!!! Legally Blonde – The Musical is coming to the Clemens Center!

Fabulously fun and international award-winning Legally Blonde – The Musical is the ultimate Broadway tribute to Girl Power! The story follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, sexism, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams, and proves that you can be legally blonde and STILL the smartest person in the room. This contemporary, sassy musical moves at a breakneck pace driven by memorable songs and explosive dances. Legally Blonde – The Musical warms the heart by proving that self-discovery can be way too much fun and hilarious to boot.

Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down, however, when her boyfriend dumps her so he can start getting more serious about his life and attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle uses her ingenuity and charm to get into Harvard too. School begins with endless struggles, but with the help of her new friends, Elle quickly realizes her potential, and her true assets, as she sets out to prove herself to the world and make everyone a believer.

Based on the beloved movie, Legally Blonde – The Musical will take you from the sorority house to the halls of justice with Broadway’s brightest new heroine and, of course, her Chihuahua, Bruiser.

Opening Day at Genesee Country Village & Museum
Opening Day Of The 2023 Season

Mark your calendars for the very first day of our 2023 season!

We can’t wait to welcome you back in 2023! Plan ahead to visit us next season and explore our 19th-century Historic Village, learn about sporting art, fashion, and culture in the John L. Wehle Gallery, enjoy a historic craft beer in the Freight House Pub, hike our nature trails, attend exciting special events, and so much more.

When you visit us on Opening Day, you’ll be able to chat with our knowledgeable costumed interpreters who keep the hearth fires burning, the heirloom gardens flourishing, and the livestock tended. You’ll hear the clanging of the blacksmith’s hammer, smell the aroma of fresh-baked treats, and truly experience life in the 19th century. Interpreters — including cooks and craftspeople — will be demonstrating their talents all day! Wander down to the farm to meet the animals, see what’s cooking at the Pioneer Farmstead, and so much more.

Make sure to visit the John L. Wehle Gallery when you visit on this special weekend to explore “Becoming Gendered: Garment as Gender Artifact,” our brand new exhibition for 2023! And don’t forget, “Duck, Duck, Shoot! The Story of American Waterbirds,” is still on view throughout the 2023 season.

Enjoy a premier shopping experience when you visit Genesee Country Village & Museum’s Flint Hill Store, located adjacent to the admissions tunnel. From handcrafted goods made right here in the Historic Village, to treats and sweets, Museum apparel, local art, decor, and more, there’s something for everyone in the Flint Hill Store!

wine and herb event
2023 Wine & Herb Event- May Weekend

Drink. Eat. Garden. Repeat. Get a head start on your herb garden. Collect the potted herbs and veggies featured in all the food samples along with the matching recipe collection.

As you savor herb-prepared cuisine, you’ll be offered a wine that compliments that dish and be able to take home the recipes, so that you can be the highlight at your next get-together. You’ll also be offered up to 3 additional wine tastings.

  • April 29/30 and May 6/7 from 10am to 5pm, both days
  • 10 participating wineries
  • This event is structured like our pre-2020 events:
    • Select a specific starting winery for you and your friends to start at. (This is where you’ll receive your souvenir wine glass and first potted herb or vegetable plant!)
    • Travel the trail as you please after your first stop, collecting potted herbs or vegetable plants as you go.
    • The ticket is good for BOTH days, so feel free to spread the wineries out over both days or come on just Saturday or just Sunday. (Pro-tip: Sunday tends to be a lighter day, so the wineries won’t be as crowded, which makes for an excellent time to visit and get more one-on-one attention with less waiting.)
  • Groups are limited to 12.
  • Expect diversity. Some wineries will be offering the standard bar tasting while others will be offering a sit-down experience that may take longer. Take your time during the day and enjoy both!

Herbs this year are hot pepper, cilantro, dill, oregano, tomato, parsley, cauliflower, sweet pepper, basil, and Cabbage.

Tickets:

Each ticket is good for the whole weekend to visit each winery once. Single tickets are $95 and couples tickets are $140 (plus tax and service fee) and include:

  • 1 wine and food pairing at each winery, per person
  • 3 additional wine tastings per winery, per person
  • 1 potted herb or vegetable plant per ticket (1 for a single ticket, 1 for a single DD ticket, and 1 for a couples ticket)
  • 1 recipe collection per ticket
  • 1 souvenir wine glass per person

Discounted designated driver tickets are also available. The DD gets all the same perks as a regular ticket, minus the wine. They also get a DD travel mug, rather than a wine glass. $45 for a single (plus tax and service fee).

INN AT TAUGHANNOCK FALLS RELEASES NEW CHEF'S CLUB TASTING SERIES The Vegan Menu

INN AT TAUGHANNOCK FALLS RELEASES NEW CHEF'S CLUB TASTING SERIES
The new program debuts this spring and is the first phase of the Chef's Club project

The Inn at Taughannock Falls is pleased to announce their new Chef's Club Tasting Series at Taughannock Project. The first phase of this project will involve three foodie focused gourmet experiences where guests will be able indulge in multi-course tasting menus dedicated to decadent cuisine themes. The Inn will host "Aux Chocolat" on April 13th, "Di Pasta" on April 27th, and "The Vegan Menu" on May 11th. Each of these nights will focus on the themes of Chocolate, Pasta, and Veganism respectively, utilizing a 6-7 course prix-fixe menu and an optional local wines pairing package.

The Inn at Taughannock Falls is expanding its restaurant profile, and introducing a revitalization of its dining program and offerings. Executive Chef Clem Coleman joined the restaurant in 2022, helping to spearhead the post-COVID initiative to open the restaurant's doors to bigger, more vibrant experiences. Combining this with the utilization of the new one-acre Enchantment Garden the restaurant hopes to give guests an unrivaled experience. Restaurant and Hotel guests are welcome to make a memory out of their time at the Inn, sitting at one of the many fire pits or the outdoor two-story wood burning fireplace, enjoying the Sonos-sound system which connects each corner of the restaurant and garden, and marveling at the cutting edge LED light system that assists in setting custom moods and tones for each event or occasion.

Of the tasting series, Chef Clem said  "It's such an excellent opportunity to not only showcase the diverse culinary backgrounds of our kitchen staff but also to incorporate elements and themes from the surrounding communities, and especially local farms, into these really immersive menus. We're so excited to highlight these dishes."  The Inn at Taughannock Falls re-opens for the season on March 31st and will be offering regular dinner service Fridays-Sundays from 5-9PM. Easter and Mother's Day brunches will be available 11AM-4PM as well. The restaurant will open for its full Thursday-Monday schedule in June. Direct customer reviews have earned the restaurant the OpenTable Diner's Choice Award for 2023 in the following categories: Foodies, Ambiance, Romance, Notable Wine List, and Special Occasions. The Inn at Taughannock Falls also extends special thanks to local winery operators that are assisting them with expanding their local wine portfolio for the second season in a row.

About the Inn at Taughannock Falls: The Inn at Taughannock Falls is a luxury boutique hotel, casual fine dining restaurant with panoramic window views of Cayuga Lake, and event center that operates 9 miles from Ithaca, NY on Route 89 in Trumansburg, next door to the Taughannock Falls State Park. The property has undergone extension renovation and restoration over the last seven years and offers a number of programs and events each year, such as their community fireworks show on July 4th, aimed at inviting locals and visitors alike to experience the property and form memories there. The one-acre Enchantment Garden opened in 2021 and has helped earn the Inn the Best of Weddings rating on The Knot annually since opening.
