Music in the Park returns this summer with another exciting lineup of artists! This fun and family-friendly series of summer events will be held every Thursday (weather permitting!) during July & August from 6p - 8p. What better way to enjoy this event than with a delicious meal from one of our many restaurants that offer outdoor seating? Many of our shoppes will be open as well! Event programs will be available at the Visitor Center (and on the hammondsport.org homepage) in the coming weeks and will include more information about the performing artists, our sponsors, and general area info. IT’S MY PARTY! | JULY 25 (RAIN DATE: JULY 29)
We believe there truly is magic in a young girl’s heart. And we think the music that captures it best is the sound of the 1960s girls groups! The idea for our group was born in 1984 when record store owner Ron Stein put The Chiffons’ Greatest Hits into the hands of a young rock ’n‘ roll enthusiast named John Giotto. (John is our producer and our drummer.) Thanks to Ron’s musical mentoring, John was inspired with a vision that would last for over 30 years! Today, we’re proud to say IT’S MY PARTY! is a 1960s vintage experience, complete with a 14-piece orchestra and original songs written especially for us! Our tight harmonies, vintage costumes, and retro choreography are all set to the highest standards of the 1960s girl groups. When we’re on stage singing our hearts out, we’re the closest thing to an authentic 1960s girl group you’ll find today!
