Radisson Corning’s new dynamic duo of Executive Chef Bill Winnie and Food & Beverage Director Will Bradley is elevating the guest experience as the hotel prepares to transition to a Hilton-branded property later this year.  The dedicated culinary team at Radisson Corning is proud to be expanding the food and beverage program with the launch of daily lunch service at its signature restaurants, Grill 1-2-5 and Market Street Social (outside).  Located in the heart of the Gaffer District, the hotel will start serving lunch seven days a week beginning July 3rd from 11 am to 1:30 pm.

Highlighted by locally sourced ingredients from the Finger Lakes region, Chef Bill has introduced a contemporary American, farm-driven lunch menu ideal for social gatherings, business meetings, and everything in between.  Along with an extensive beer and wine list meticulously curated to compliment recipes, lunch offerings include a selection of soups, starters, sandwiches and wraps, and salads along with children’s favorites.   The menu is both approachable and affordable, with items ranging from only $7 to $19.  House specialties include a Pride of New York cheese board state with hand-made daily accoutrements, a ½ pound Angus burger on a fresh brioche bun, a signature Reuben with sliced corned beef lathered in Swiss, and a seasonal strawberry almond salad with blueberries, chevre cheese, and strawberry champagne vinaigrette.  Reservations are encouraged by contacting the restaurant directly at 607.962.5000 ext 127.

"I paint to make my experience of the world more concrete to myself and to make permanent an elusive moment"

Dora started her over half century career as a painter in 1956. Her work was usually abstract but always inspired by the natural world. She was captivated by the infinite variety of forms and colors in nature and their repetition in water, sand, stone and wood. She enjoyed local and regional gallery and museum shows and was particularly excited about interpreting what she experienced in her many visits to Taughannock State Park, Cape Cod, the Grand Canyon, and the surreal landscape of Utah. She also enjoyed trips to Greece, Italy and her ancestral home of Slovenia, all of which influenced her painting.

Who was Robert H. Treman, after whom the state park near Ithaca was named?
Who Was Robert H. Treman?

Over the past century, millions of people have visited Robert H. Treman State Park in Ithaca, NY. But most may not have known who Treman was and why the park was named for him. Well that is changing. On September 23, 2023, the Friends of Robert H. Treman State Park, along with park staff and officials, and members of the Treman family, unveiled an outdoor interpretive sign answering this very question. See this sign (at the end of the video) and hear what they had to say about the remarkable park legacy of Robert H. Treman.

Robert H. Treman was a prominent Ithaca businessman and banker who loved our natural surroundings in the Finger Lakes. In 1920, he and his wife Laura donated nearly 400 acres of land surrounding Enfield Glen, one of the spectacular gorges surrounding Ithaca, to the people of the State of New York for the purpose of creating Enfield Glen State Park. Treman went on to lead in the creation of many more parks in the region. Following his death in 1937, Enfield Glen was renamed in his honor.

Find out more in the Friends of Robert H. Treman State Park website.

Walk in the Park is a public access television series produced in Ithaca, NY by Owl Gorge Productions, a Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance partner.
