Auburn’s First Friday Event on September 3

After a long-COVID induced hiatus, First Friday resumes in Auburn, on a larger-scale. There are twenty venues onboard for September, with the BID’s added goal of highlighting pocket downtown neighborhoods. The businesses on East Hill are the focus this month, and Plaza of the Arts & Cayuga Culinary Institute and downtown’s western gateway in October.

BID always encourages the district stakeholder businesses to work together, to support each other and perhaps influence the products & services that they offer. This is exactly what happened with Gretchen’s Confections and neighboring Evolve CBD. A conversation transformed into a new colab CBD chocolate line and the option for CBD infused drinks. Gretchen’s is also now offering Twisted Vegan’s menu items both in-house and to-go.

Additionally, the East Hill hair salons have jumped onboard First Friday with Hairlooms hosting a DJ and Salon 27 offering face painting for families. Reuse Refuge is unveiling their expanded market-style retail space with more eco-friendly vendors, brands, products & refill options, plus multiple discounts and a drawing. At Underground Bottle Shop, view a new display of artwork by artist & musician Brian Francis, then enjoy a fish fry dinner and $5 beer drafts at Moro’s Table, followed by free sweet samples at Moonflower Macaron.

Other venues offer their own spin with free admission & refreshments, food & beverage specials and discounted merchandise to add to this monthly community celebration. Cultural activities include art exhibits, art making & live music. First Friday is organized by the Downtown Auburn BID.

Theresa Caputo, from TLC’s hit show, Long Island Medium, will be appearing live at Clemens Center on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. Theresa will share personal stories about her life and explain how her gift works. She will deliver healing messages to audience members and give people comfort knowing that their loved ones who passed are still with them, just in a different way.

“The Experience” brings Theresa face-to-face with her fans, as she lets spirit guide her through the audience. A video display ensures everyone in the venue has an up-close-hands-on experience regardless of seat location. “The experience isn’t about believing in mediums. It’s about witnessing something life-changing” says Theresa Caputo. “It’s like Long Island Medium live, witnessing first-hand spirit communication.”

The highly-rated show Long Island Medium follows Theresa’s life as a typical Long Island mom with one very big difference…she can communicate with the dead. Since she cannot “turn off” this gift, messages from departed loved ones can come through at any time, which lead to spontaneous readings with those she encounters. In addition to her television show, Theresa has appeared on such programs as “Jay Leno,” “Jimmy Fallon,” “Steve Harvey,” “Live with Kelly and Michael,” “Dr. Oz,” & “The Today Show.”

Theresa’s latest book, “Good Grief: Heal Your Soul, Honor Your Loved Ones, and Learn to Live Again”, was released in 2017 and debuted on the NY Times Best-Seller List at #3. With her energetic, positive, and encouraging tone, Theresa uses the lessons from Spirit to guide the reader through grief toward a place of solace and healing. Theresa’s second book titled “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up” was released in September 2014 and debuted at #9 on the NY Times Best Seller List. Her first book titled “There’s More to Life Than This” was released in the fall of 2013.

Theresa has been a practicing medium for over 20 years. She helps individuals find closure by delivering healing messages. For Theresa, this is not just her job… this is her life. Learn more about Theresa at www.theresacaputo.com.

Although Theresa will be giving readings to various audience members throughout her show, the purchase of a ticket does not guarantee a reading.

The Clemens Center will follow all NYS guidelines for operation at the time of the performances.

Portrait of Hanna PK
LIVE MUSIC by Hanna PK

Hanna PK is a solid pianist, soulful vocalist, and vibrant performer, born and raised in South Korea, currently residing in Rochester, NY.  She plays a wide variety of the blues & swing, old school folk, and boogie-woogie.  She has a dynamic songwriting style - ranging from a funky tune with socially conscious lyrics to a mournful slow blues, from a pop-edged ballad to an uplifting swinging number, and from barrelhouse boogie to jazz.  Her seemingly sweet and soft-spoken appearance often leads to surprise when hearing her rich, resonating voice that goes from a whisper to belting with intensity.  Her piano style is much more lyrical and imaginative than simply repeating so-called “licks”, though she knows when to toss them in the mix for a thrill, and is always in the groove.  And what draws the audience closer to her heartfelt, honest music are her genuine passion, and the originality that comes from within.

In addition to tasty Hunt Country wines, Climbing Bines beer, an extensive offering of local picnic nibbles, and beautiful vineyard scenery, we offer LIVE MUSIC.

When weather permits, performances will take place on our covered porch where music can be enjoyed from our tasting room, porch seating, and lawn seating.  Or, feel free to bring a picnic blanket or folding chairs for set up on the lawn.  In inclement weather, the show will go on in our Tasting Room.

Reservations for tastings are highly recommended, but not required.  Make your reservations HERE.
Wines can also be purchased in our tasting room by the glass or by the bottle as well.

Picnic items include local cheeses, salamis, ferments, olives, nuts, popcorn, pretzels, chips, crackers, salsa, specialty mustards, Hedonist chocolates, grape candy, etc...  We also offer local canned beer, kombucha, bottled soda, iced teas, and sparkling water.

COVID-19:
We greatly appreciate your continued patience and understanding as we figure out the best ways to keep you and our staff safe, and prevent another surge of COVID-19 infections.

Visiting the winery means you are aware of the current COVID-19 pandemic and understand the risks associated with visiting public places and won’t hold Hunt Country liable in the event you become infected with the virus. You also understand and will follow the best practices laid out by the CDC and NYSDOH, as well as the practice and directions provided by Hunt Country. Please postpone your visit to the winery if you are or have been exposed to persons who are ill, showing symptoms, or have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last two weeks.

Masks: Per guidance from the CDC and NYSDOH, people who are fully-vaccinated no longer need to wear masks. However, people who are not yet fully-vaccinated should continue to wear masks indoors to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. We encourage any person who prefers to wear a mask to do so.
