Summer Concert Series at the Lighthouse—Joe Whiting Band

Singer and saxophone player Joe Whiting fronted a seminal rock band on RCA called Jukin’ Bone in the 1970s.  He played the rock-‘n’-roll circuit with Bobby Comstock, replaced Ronnie Dio in ELF, toured with Van Halen, recorded two classic blues albums and “Backbone Slip.”  He toured the world for three years with Savoy Brown.  He is a Grammy Award nominee and a member of the Syracuse Music Hall of Fame.  The rest of the Joe Whiting Band comprises Rick Basha, Tony Schimizzi, Brian Barrigar, and Dave Walker.    2-4 p.m.  FREE.  Outdoors on the Sodus Bay Lighthouse Museum lawn, 7606 North Ontario Street, Sodus Point, NY.  Bring your own chair.  Free shuttle bus from Newark, Lyons, Sodus, and Sodus Point.  Museum admission is just $1 during the concert.  Refreshments are available at the Lighthouse Concession Stand.  For more information, call (315) 483-4936 or visit www.sodusbaylighthouse.org.  Made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts, Finger Lakes Community Arts Grants, and Lighthouse Events Sponsors.
