Finger Lakes Events Calendar

Festivals, Happy Hour, Live Music, Theatre, and More!

It doesn’t matter what your interests are or who you’re in the Finger Lakes with, you can always find a great event to enrich your time in the region with those you care about.

Events take place all year round in the Finger Lakes region. From lakeside (and on the lake) events in the summer to harvest activities in the fall, snowmobiling or snowshoeing in the winter, and festivals in the springtime! Step inside a glassmaker’s studio to blow your own glass, stroll Main Street on a food tour, or gather for live music and theater performances. Browse the list of Finger Lakes events below or search the specific dates you will be visiting to see everything going on in the region.

Great Events that Happen Every Year

Below, you will find dozens of great events happening throughout the year with many of them happening annually. If you have memories of favorite annual Finger Lakes events from childhood such as cardboard boat regattas, hot air balloon festivals, cheese, apple or pumpkin festivals, to name a few, it’s likely that event that still takes place or, has likely improved your enjoyment. If you see a special event that piques your interest but can’t make it, click on the event anyway, it might be coming back next year!

Events Added Daily

Make sure to check back frequently to see if any other great events have been added. Events are added daily by businesses from every sector and interest so if there is nothing that sparks your interest now, there very well could be soon!

CIRQUE DREAMS HOLIDAZE dazzles with a brilliant and whimsical family holiday spectacular. This annual tradition wraps a Broadway-style production around an infusion of contemporary circus arts. As lights dim and the music swells, audiences will have visions of sugarplums dancing in their heads as a fantastical cast of holiday storybook characters come to life. Broadway World exclaims, “Lose yourself for 90 minutes and go back to those wonderful dreams you had as a kid.”

Imaginative and fun for children to seniors and everyone in between, CIRQUE DREAMS HOLIDAZE features a world-renowned cast of performers accompanied by an ensemble of aerial circus acts, sleight-of-hand jugglers, fun-loving skippers, breath-catching acrobatics, and much more.  An original music score includes new twists on seasonal favorites such as “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and “Carol of the Bells.” Singers, dancers, penguins, toy soldiers, and reindeer invoke the dreams behind a child’s eye on the most magical of nights. Amidst a backdrop of new sets, scenery, and storylines, this family-friendly production is sure to put a twinkle in your eye!

In this encore episode of Walk in the Park (from January, 2016), we visit several area gorges and compare photos taken for tourist stereographs with modern pictures, getting some insights into the histories of these scenic locations.

We visit Pinnacle Rock in Buttermilk Falls State Park, Fall Creek Gorge, Watkins Glen State Park, Havana Glen Park in Montour Falls. We also look at some silent film footage taken more than 100 years ago by the Wharton Studios at what is now Stewart Park in Ithaca in the marshlands formerly at the south end of Cayuga Lake. Then we look at three short videos of the Delaware Bay, Virginia Beach, and Jones Beach on Long Island.

Walk in the Park is a non-commercial public access cable TV series produced in Ithaca NY by Owl Gorge Productions, a Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance partner.
