Each year, automotive and travel company AAA reviews nearly 28,000 hotels including resorts, historic inns, B&Bs and more. These hotels are then given a diamond rating, with the highest being Five Diamonds. According to AAA, the number of Diamonds indicates the level of service, from no-frills to luxury. Just 6.1 percent make the Four Diamond list.
