Corning, NY- The Heritage Village of the Southern Finger Lakes will be sponsoring two separate make and take sewing workshops for children ages 8 and older on August 21 and 22 from 10-3 each day.  “Upcycling” will be held on August 21. This workshop will upcycle jeans into unique handbags.  In the afternoon the participants will learn the basics of redwork, a traditional form of embroidery. “Making it Sew Good” will be held on August 22. This workshop will create table top candle mats. In the afternoon participants will learn the basics of counted cross stitch. For both workshops children will learn to use a rotary cutter, a sewing machine, and an iron. All materials and a snack will be provided.  You can register for one or both workshops. The cost for each workshop is $50.  You can register for both days at a discount.  The cost for both days is $90.
