NAPLES, NY (June 2022)
Bristol Valley Theater, the Finger Lakes' award-winning live professional theater, will open its Summer Season with an original country music revue, Heartbeat of America: The Classics of Country.
Featuring country music from the 1960s to today, Heartbeat of America explores the roots of country music and how it has shaped our country over time. From Hank to Loretta. From Charlie to Patsy. From Dolly and Porter to Johnny and June. Country music is a soundtrack as unique and varied as the nation that created it. One evening can't begin to touch on all the classic songs and artists of country music...but we're gonna try!
The cast features BVT favorites Courtney Nolan Smith and Martin Flowers as well as two new talented singers, Hannah Jane Peterson and Kyle Waterbury. The creative team consists of directors Karin Bowersock and Morgan Montgomery, lighting designer J.D. Hopper, costume designer Samantha Miller, and sound designer Rich Miller.
“Country music has always been a favorite of mine!” says Courtney Nolan Smith. “No other genre of music tells a story quite like country. There's love, there's heartbreak, and there's lots of drinking. Come join us for an evening of our country favorites!”
Performances run from June 16 – 26 at the theater at 151 S. Main Street in Naples. Performance times are June 16-18 at 8pm, June 19 at 2pm, June 22-23 at 2pm, June 23-25 at 8pm, and June 26 at 2pm. Bristol Valley Theater's 2022 season continues through September 4 with Cowboy Versus Samurai, Once, The Book Club Play, It's a Small World (or The Robot Play), and Amy and the Orphans.
