Buttonwood Grove Wins Best of Class in San Francisco!

Jan 14th, 2019

Buttonwood Grove's 2017 Riesling was awarded Best of Class at the recent San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.  This delightful semi-sweet Riesling is the follow-up to the 2016 vintage, which was awarded the Governor's Cup for Best Wine in New York State.  At 3.2% residual sugar, it has a light sweetness that's balanced by bright acidity, providing a fresh, clean finish.  It's one of 6 estate grown Rieslings currently produced by Buttonwood Grove.  The 2017 Dry Riesling received a Double Gold Medal at the competition, and the 2017 Riemer Block Semi-Dry Riesling and 2017 Riesling Ice Wine each received Silver Medals.  2017 Unoaked Chardonnay also received Silver, and the 2017 barrel aged Chardonnay received Bronze. The San Francisco Chronicle International Wine Competition is the largest competition of North American wines in the world, with 7000 entrants each year.
