Oct 02nd, 2020

October 2, 2020, Romulus, NY- The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail (CLWT) is launching a “Wine of the Month Series” campaign to showcase the different wines the region excels in. Each month, participating Cayuga Lake Wine Trail member wineries will feature a different vinifera wine ranging from Riesling to Cabernet Franc and anything in between.

To kick the series off, participating member wineries will be featuring their Chardonnay. The CLWT website features interesting information about Chardonnays history, where it came from, how it has evolved over time, as well as a few food pairing suggestions. The website also lists the different offers and promotions you can find at the participating wineries throughout the entire month of October. “I think Chardonnay in this region is really underplayed. I’ll even admit to only just now becoming a Chardonnay fan.” Katherine Chase, Executive Director shares. “I used to think all Chardonnays were oaky and buttery, but unoaked Chardonnay has become really popular in the region- and in my wine collection- and I’m hoping we can draw attention to how diverse Chardonnay truly is through the promotion.” Each of the participating wineries are offering their visitors a little something different, ranging from complimentary Chardonnay tastings to discounts off purchases to free gifts!

All the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail wineries are open, safe, and remain in compliance with the various state rules and regulations. All tastings are seated, snacks are served with the tastings or flights, and additional cleaning routines have been set in place. For further information on individual winery offerings, the Wine Trail has many up-to-date resources on its website to help you plan your trip: www.CayugaWineTrail.com.
