Corning, NY—Corning’s Gaffer District and Chemung Canal Trust Company is pleased to present the ninth annual GlassFest, May 24-27, 2018. A four-day celebration of glass and the fire arts in America’s Crystal City.
In preparation for the 2018 GlassFest event, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic:
Friday, May 25 from 3 pm through Sunday, May 27 at 6 pm:
- Tioga Avenue from the Parking Garage to the entrance of the Bus Stop
Friday, May 25 from 5 pm through Sunday, May 27 at 8 pm
- Aurene Lane from Cedar Street to Tarantelli Lane (open for emergency vehicles and deliveries only)
Saturday, May 26 from 6 am through Sunday, May 27 at 8 pm:
- Pine Street from Market Street to Burmese Lane
- Market Street from Bridge Street to Wall Street
- Wall Street from Aurene Lane to Burmese Lane
- Chestnut Street from Aurene Lane to Burmese Lane
All streets listed above will remain closed to vehicular traffic overnight the two days of the event.
Cedar Street (from Tioga Ave to Burmese Lane) is closed 10am–8pm and will reopen at 8 pm on Saturday, May 26, for overnight travel. In conjunction with the Cedar St. closure, the left turn lane Westbound Tioga Ave, and the left turn lane Eastbound on Denison Parkway will be closed. A detour will be at Chemung St. On Sunday, May 27, Cedar St. (from Tioga Ave to Burmese Lane) will close from 9 AM -5 PM.
In Preparation for the GlassFest 8K race, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic:

- Aisne Street
- Tioga Ave (Cedar to Steuben)
- Steuben St. (Roundhouse Ln to Alabaster Ln)
- Cohocton Street (E. Market Street Ext. to Roundhouse Ln.)
- E. Market Street Ext. (Cohocton to Trolley Ln)
- Relihan Boulevard (Park Ave to Trolley Ln)
- Mill Lane (Relihan Boulevard to E. Second Street Ext.)
LOT CLOSING REQUEST: Lot #16 @ Tioga Avenue (Wall St. entrance)
DOT STREET CLOSING REQUESTS:
7:45am – 8:30am
- Route 414 closed from MuLseum Way to Tioga Avenue (both lanes)
7:45am – 9:30am
- Route 414 – No left-hand turn onto Corning Blvd.
- Northbound 414 from Tioga Ave. to Corning Blvd.
For the duration of the event, free parking is available in the Centerway Parking Facility. All vehicles must enter and exit from Walnut Street only, starting at 3 pm on Friday, May 25 through Sunday, May 27 at 6 pm.
GlassFest kicks off with the glass ribbon cutting ceremony at The Corning Museum of Glass on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at 5:30 pm. The event will take place in conjunction with one of the museum’s 2300˚ events.
