Free Info Session for Preservation Grants hosted by Arts Center of Yates County

Jan 23rd, 2018

Free Info Session for Preservation Grants

Area nonprofit organizations and local municipalities can learn how to access grant funds to support reporting on historic structures, building conditions, cultural landscape and cultural resources through the Preserve New York program on Friday, February 9th from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. at the Yates County History Center in Penn Yan.

Preserve New York and Technical Assistance Grants are signature grant programs of the New York State Council on the Arts and the Preservation League. This year the programs have a total of $306,678 available for disbursement through two grant cycles. Preserve New York applications are due March 26. There will be a separate round for Technical Assistance Grants in the fall. Through its grant programs, the Preservation League has strategically invested in the rehabilitation of historic places, leveraged significant additional cash and in-kind resources, and protected properties at the local, state and national level through landmark designations. These grants help groups conserve, protect and use their cultural resources and are an important catalyst in realizing community preservation goals.

The meeting on February 9 is free and will focus on the Preserve NY grant program. The event is co-sponsored by the Arts Center of Yates County, the Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance and the Yates County History Center. There is no cost to attend but reservations are required. Call 607-296-0329 to reserve a spot or go to www.preservenys.org/grants to RSVP online.
