Spring Support Campaign

At the age of 13, Englishman William R. Brooks (1844-1921) came to the United States and soon developed a lifelong interest in astronomy. He discovered more than 27 comets in his career. William Smith built Brooks a house and observatory at 620 Castle Street so he would teach at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

William is one of the Geneva's innovators profiled in our latest exhibit. His story is part of Geneva’s rich and diverse history. Whether it is through programs, exhibits, collections, or online content, we tell Geneva’s stories. To continue sharing these stories, we need your help, and we ask that you to contribute to our Spring Support Campaign.
