Rochester, N.Y., May 12, 2020—Following the success of its first two virtual lectures, the George Eastman Museum has announced a third lecture on Friday, May 15 at 1 p.m. (EST). The free Focus 45 talk will center on George Eastman’s historic gardens, and will be led by Kathy Connor, Curator of the George Eastman Legacy Collection at the George Eastman Museum.
Focus 45: Eastman’s Gardens Then and Now
Friday, May 15 at 1 p.m. (EST)
Legacy Curator Kathy Connor will take us on a tour of the historic gardens from 1905, when George Eastman first moved in, through the eventual changes that took place after his death when the mansion became the residence of University of Rochester presidents. The tour will include discussion of why his childhood home was moved to the estate, the restoration efforts undertaken in the early 1990s, and the work that continues to this day. Registration is required via Zoom, as space is limited for the free talk. Registration is open now at eastman.org.
