Glenora Wine Cellars Supports Humane Society with SpokesPup Series

Aug 26th, 2019

Dundee, NY (August 23, 2019) – On Monday, August 26th, National Dog Day, Glenora Wine Cellars will proudly present a check for $1,678 to Bonnie Dillon-Brewer, executive director of the Humane Society of Yates County. This donation comes from the sales of their SpokesPup series of wine, GG’s Reserve and Chase’s Reserve.

The SpokesPup series originated in 2016 with Chase’s Reserve and expanded in 2018 to include GG’s Reserve, featuring rescue pups Chase and GG on the labels. Chase was a survivor of the 2005 Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and GG was rescued from a construction dumpster in rural Georgia in 2015. Both Chase and GG were rescued by the same great family, the Pursaes, who are natives of Rochester now living in Florida. The inspiration for the series came from the desire to tell their incredible rescue stories, as well as to raise funds in support of animal charities across the United States.

Since their releases, a portion of the proceeds from each bottle sold have been collected and donated to animal charities. To date, Glenora has donated over $7,800 - $2,058 of which went to Suncoast Animal League, the animal rescue organization in Palm Harbor, Florida responsible for  rescuing Chase and GG. Moving forward, as we count down to the next National Dog Day, all charitable proceeds raised will be dedicated to the Humane Society of Schuyler County.

“It gives us great pride to be associated with such happy rescue stories and to support such a deserving cause,” said Gene Pierce, owner. That pride has helped to foster a wonderful relationship with the Pursaes, who despite the distance, actively support and participate in the promotion of these deserving charitable causes.
