(CORTLAND, NY): The results are in! The Great Cortland Pumpkinfest was named the 4th Best Fall Festival in the entire United States in USA Today’s popular 2019 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
“We are thrilled that USA Today and the traveling public have recognized Cortland County’s Pumpkinfest,” said Meghan Lawton, Executive Director of the Cortland County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “To just receive a nomination of this stature, on the national level, is a testament to the work of the Great Cortland Pumpkinfest Committee, and now to be named Fourth Best Fall Festival in the entire USA – this is something to be extremely proud of.”
USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards 2019 is an annual contest hosted by the magazine to determine the best in US travel. USA Today travel experts select 20 nominees in contests covering food, lodging, destinations, travel gear, things to do and so much more. Then it is up to the readers to make the final decision by casting their votes.
“We’re so excited that the Great Cortland Pumpkinfest placed fourth in the USA Today Fall Festivals contest,” said Mindy Stevenson, Co-Chair of the Pumpkinfest Committee. “This is a recognition of our Cortland community and shines a light on all the area has to offer. Thanks to everyone for their votes and support.”
The 2019 Great Cortland Pumpkinfest will take place October 5th and 6th at Courthouse Park in Downtown Cortland. The Festival Committee has planned a great mix of long-time festival favorites as well as new activities for attendees to take part in.
Pumpkinfest Committee Co-Chair Liz Cole added, “This is a testament not only to the festival, but to the support the festival receives from the community and attendees. Our thanks go out to all those who voted for Pumpkinfest and helped it become nationally recognized – we appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you in October!”
