HARVEST Festival Comes to Market Street in Corning on September 22

Sep 18th, 2018

Corning, NY — Corning’s Gaffer District is pleased to announce the HARVEST Festival on Saturday, September 22 from 12:00—7:45pm on Historic Market Street and warmly welcomes Elmira Savings Bank as returning title sponsor.

This year, HARVEST will highlight the Gaffer District's celebration of 150 years of glassmaking in Corning. Festivities will feature Gaffer District restaurants and businesses offering shopping and dining incentives along with the Corning Farmers Market, a pie-judging contest, the Gaffer SOUP-OFF, scavenger hunt, fireworks, and many other family activities.

Community tables will line Market Street and act as a gathering place to sit and eat harvest-inspired foods offered by our restaurants. Participating restaurants will be selling on the street and/or offering take-out or dine-in specials. Enjoy live music on three stages featuring free performances by local and regional musicians.

Executive Director of Corning’s Gaffer District, Coleen Fabrizi, said, “Our HARVEST event is a favorite way for so many people to launch their fall season.  We are so excited to welcome them back and we look forward to greet the newcomers as well.  It is especially exciting to cap off the day with a celebration of our rich history of glassmaking, giving away one of a kind hand blown glass pieces to lucky winners and of course fireworks!!!"
