Historic Geneva to Honor Community Storytellers

Jun 27th, 2022

Geneva, N.Y.: On July 21, 2022 Historic Geneva will gather to recognize community members who have been a part of telling Geneva's stories. Geneva is filled with stories. While Historic Geneva is the primary repository of these stories, we are not the only storytellers. Whether it’s an ongoing effort or a one-time project, there are individuals, businesses, and organizations throughout the community who are telling stories from Geneva’s past and present.

To celebrate Geneva’s storytellers, Historic Geneva will host a recognition reception on Thursday, July 21 at Rose Hill Mansion. For our first recognition reception we will be honoring:

  • Anthony Bray, Samari Brown, Sal Fabio, Christina Roc, and Chris Woodworth of the Hobart and William Smith College Theatre Department for From Beyond: Geneva’s Unheard Voices (A Theatrical Walking Tour).
  • Lake Drum Brewing
  • Geneva Public Library

The event goes from 6 to 8 p.m. with the reception at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will be able to walk through Rose Hill Mansion at their own pace and explore the  belvedere at the top of the house. Light refreshments will be served. Pre-sale tickets are $25 per person and $30 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at historicgeneva.org or by calling Historic Geneva at 315-789-5151.

Rose Hill Mansion is located at 3373 Route 96A, about a mile south of Routes 5&20, near Geneva, New York. For more information about Rose Hill, call 315-789-3848 or visit historicgeneva.org.

Historic Geneva, formerly the Geneva Historical Society, tells the stories of Geneva, New York at the Geneva History Museum, Rose Hill Mansion, and Johnston House, and online at historicgeneva.org.
