Our weekly blog articles examine various aspects of Geneva’s stories. Here's our most recent blog on the McPadden family.

Help Us Tell Stories

Drum and bugle corps traditionally played military music. The Geneva American Legion Appleknockers (1929-1964) was among the first to play popular tunes. In the 1950s, they played jazz on single-valve bugles, and other corps began copying the style.

The Appleknockers are one of the Geneva innovators profiled in our latest exhibit. Their story is part of Geneva’s rich and diverse history. Whether it is through programs, exhibits, collections, or online content, we tell Geneva’s stories. To continue sharing these stories, we need your help, and we ask that you to contribute to our Fall Support Campaign.
