Mar 19th, 2014

Aurora, N.Y.  On Tuesday, April 1, the Inns of Aurora will present the next in its series of cooking classes, this gathering centered on making the preparation of an exquisite brunch easy. The small, hands-on class runs from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and costs $75 per person, including tax and gratuity. Included in the evening is a full meal, served at 8:30, of the dishes prepared throughout the class participation is extremely limited to eight spots.

Over the course of the evening's class, Executive Chef Patrick Higgins will instruct participants using demonstrations and guiding hands-on practice behind the scenes in the Aurora Inn Dining Room's kitchen. Students will learn to make quiche, Monte Cristo crepes, apple and maple blintz, crab cake benedict with hollandaise sauce, beet and carrot latkes, and will leave the class with a suite of Aurora Inn Dining Room recipes.

Meryl Davis, Director of Marketing and wine curator for the Inns, will be keeping bar, crafting signature mimosas and pear Bellinis. “I am so excited to finally have a cooking class all about brunch! remarks Davis.  Brunch has become one of our most popular meals, and we've learned a lot about perfecting it along the way. In this class, each pair of partners will have their own crepe-making station's so fun to learn how to flip crepes high in the air without worrying about making a mess in your own kitchen."
