Step Up to the Challenge with Us!
Can you walk 87 miles?
That's the length of our scenic byway.
We are launching a new VIRTUAL event for you to walk the equivalent length of the Byway while helping us raise funds to add new programs that share the culture, history, and natural wonders of the Cayuga Lake area.
Join us, virtually, for our first annual Cayuga Lake Scenic Byway Step Challenge, October 15th to November 14th, 2021. All those steps you take every day at your house, place of work, gym, grocery store, etc. all count to meet the step challenge. No need to travel anywhere beyond your home base to participate in this event.
Our event organizers calculated that you'll need to take 184,000 steps, about 6,133 steps per day, to walk 87 miles over the 30-day period. Of course if you are an avid walker for work, your health, or are really, really competitive, or are truly inspired by our challenge; keep stepping! The 87 miles is the minimum. The top 10 steppers will receive a special award sponsored by Rasa Spa.
The cost to participate is $30.00, $1.00 per day. Don't have time to register by October 15th, no problem you can join the challenge at anytime during the 30-day period.
So, walking the dog, taking out the trash barrel to the curb, mowing the lawn, walking the children to the bus, those steps all count toward the step goal. Keep track of the challenge on our Facebook page to see how the event is progressing and who's in the running for the special awards.
