Kids are free at Genesee Country Village & Museum on Columbus Day

Oct 01st, 2018

Mumford, October 1, 2018— Genesee Country Village & Museum will be open on Columbus Day, October 8, 2018, and will offer FREE admission for kids 17 and under. From 10 am until 4 pm, the museum will be bustling with activity, and guests are always welcome to join in the fun! Farm-to-table enthusiasts and budding chefs can help the cooks churn butter and pound cornmeal for johnnycakes in the village houses. There will be 19th century games in the village square all day and a scavenger hunt around the museum grounds that begins at the admissions booth. Kids will also enjoy a visit to the Gallery's exhibit all about working dogs, and everyone can try their hand at making a tin ornament at the Tinsmith. Now that the heat of summer is fading, the animals are active in the village, including the teams of oxen used to work the fields in preparation for the harvest and winter.
